make a big pot of minestrone, or some other soup, and freeze into individual zip-lock baggies.

defrost, add a bit of rice, pasta or nothing at all. a quick, nutritious and cheap meal.

As long as I don't have to I will not go the thrifty way when it comes to food.noway If it is only a filler and nothing else then I might.

I have a freezer and refrigerator full of food, but cooking for one is just a pain in the backside most of the time, so I end up with frozen pizza or something like that. I do have fresh oranges and grapefruit off of my trees this time of year though. happy

homemade chili, baked potatoes w/ chili, homemade spaghetti, tuna-pasta salad, beenie-weenies, soup-n-sandwich...all homemade, cheap and better than fast food. if you do it right, better than restaurants.
