In the mutual match section, how does that work?

Not at all.

Someone looking at your profile thinks "hey... now he/she doesn't look as hideous as the others!" and clicks the little button that says "Match with Him/Her". This results in a number of occurrences that can only be described as "cool, dude" when you get word that someone (meaning the person who wanted to match with you) wants to match with you.

If you want to be "matched", then click "Yes". If you want nothing to do with the person, click "No".

Simple, huh?

You look at the guys they put on the mutual match and if both of you say yes or maybe then you have a match.

ya click on people that you might be interested in and since one in 5 respond click a few and when the next morning rolls around and you have a kazillion matches in your mailbox sort them with the holy cow and answer now method... the answer nows get a note in the email saying hello and the holy cows wait for the following week... Personally i lose interest since they don't often reply unless i'm only a little interested then they reply a lot, must be murphy's law...

SO when I am going through the list, and I click yes to the guys, and I look at my profile, and they are on my "Your mutual matches", what does that mean, that they looked at mine and said yes?

Yeppers. If you see profiles in the "Your Mutual Matches" page, it means that you have made some Mutual Matches.

What you do with them after that is up to you.

honestly... i like it. i mean people have made fun of it and most don't like it but i treat it like a lil way to break the ice if there's someone i mutual match with and so far i've made some good friends and may... just may have a date ...

which makes no sense as i'm moving away.

Not necessarily, but sometimes. Mingle is constantly automatically putting people in your Mutual Match queue based on some magical, secret alogorithm that sometimes includes people on another planet. And it does the same to everyone, usually letting you see people in your area.

If one of you selects 'yes', the other of you gets a notice that 'hey, someone on your list of potential Mutual Matches said "yes"'. But it doesn't tell you which one. Since I rarely get anbody in my list, I usually know who it was because they're the only one in my queue.

Anyhow, I pretty much ignore mutual match.

They either aren't checking their matches (often the case) or they said 'no'. But unless they check their MM's regularly, they probably don't know that you said 'yes'.

If one does say 'yes' to your 'yes', the mutual match fairy sends both of you an email telling you of your potential true love connection.

okay this is how it works.

you go to your matches they show you random men/women in your area/age group chosen by your settings. you click Yes ... No... Maybe...

those you choose yes or maybe to .. you'll show up in their mutual match pile first. the system shows you to them first regardless to their settings because you said yes to them. this gives them the chance to say yes back or no.. or whatever.

if they say yes.. you'll get a notice saying "you have a mutual match" in which you can click see who i've matched with and boom there they are. the newest will be highlighted and at the top of the list.

its up to you use message them or not ya know? you've already both agreed that you like what you see so far.. so take a chance and say hi.

so far ... i like it. its a pretty groovy way to break the ice.
