Why do people love the idea of being independant, but feel better when they have someone to depend on and love? Regardless of how independent we THINK we are, we are riddled with self-doubt on some level. Finding a nice blend is PERFECTION in this life, right? |

It a catch 22 on that..............you really cant be totally independent when you with another person.............your feelings for each other alone can tell you that you depend on them to acknowledge that what you feel is true..........

Why do people love the idea of being independant, but feel better when they have someone to depend on and love? True independence comes with confident ability to weather the vagaries of life. That is what people love about independence. It means that they have made the grade, and CAN DO what needs doing. They grew up. They feel better with another person of similar achievement. Just like rowing a boat. I can do it, and you can do it, but we can do it better together, and with less effort, and get further more quickly. Ain't it neat? |

Why do people love the idea of being independant, but feel better when they have someone to depend on and love? I am extremely independent, I feel better when I have someone to love and who loves me. But I rarely depend on anyone even when in love. I would rather not expect anything, this way I don't get disappointed. |

Why do people love the idea of being independant, but feel better when they have someone to depend on and love? Because most people don't know what they want. They want to be "independent", but they feel lonely. They want to have a relationship, but they want their "space". They want someone to love them, but only on THEIR terms and when they're up to it. They claim people must make themselves happy, but they're not so until they're dating someone. I've done tax returns that were less confusing than the whole dating fiasco. |

I like my independence where I can do what ever I want. But sometimes, there are moments where I'd wish I had some kind of companion to just spend quality time with. It's complicated.

Why do people love the idea of being independant, but feel better when they have someone to depend on and love? I think it's human nature to want to be with someone. I believe that the times and todays world has made us to want to be more dependant though. |
