It really bothers me when I say something in a thread, being truthful. Yet I get mail from people that dont want to be honest, and thanking me for it. Why can't people just tell it like it is? Why do I have to be one of the only ones?

For those that choose to "not say anything", that's entirely your prerogative -- but don't wonder why the problem keeps perpetuating. sometimes though, diplomacy and tact go a long way. there's a kind way to be honest and a cruel one and there are many people (myself included at times) who can't, or rather won't, distinguish between them. and there are also rules of the site that discourage some the cruel things that i'd like to say at times. |

I will speak my mind when someone is being cowardly or accusing others of some kind of wrongdoing yet is afraid to say names. Absolutely I will call them on it repeatedly. It is also very difficult to hold back when other members are egging you on to confront these people who clearly illicit this attention.

Lisa, I can appreciate that answer.
However, all too often, I see diplomacy and tact = beating around the bush. Tact was never my stong suit (big surprise there, huh?), and I don't possess a strong diplomacy bone. It's just the way I'm built, nothing personal. I'd rather hurt with the truth than mislead with a lie. |
