When the issue of Americans being overweight "exploded" and every thing on TV and in Magazines was focused on that issue, everyone was telling us don't eat this and don't eat that cause it's all bad for you.

First they said eggs were bad for you, then they changed their minds and said they were good for you.

First they said chocolate was bad for you, then they said it was good for you.

First they said coffee was bad for you, and now they are saying it can reduce the risk of Alzheimer's and Dementia.

"Middle-aged people who drink moderate amounts of coffee significantly reduce their risk of developing Alzheimer's disease.........Middle-aged people who drank between three and five cups of coffee a day lowered their risk of developing dementia and Alzheimer's disease by between 60 and 65 percent later in life"

I get that over-indulging in anything is bad for you, and that eating anything in moderation is really what's best...

But seriously, how do we really know what's going to harm us and what isn't?

I mean, our Great Grandparents and Grandparents pretty much ate whatever they liked or was available, and they lived long and healthy lives.

So do you believe what they say about foods being good or bad for you or do you just eat what you want?

Since you only go around this world once, and it ain't up to me when the button is pushed, you might as well make the most of it. I say eat, drink, and be merry.

What would be the point in listening to the supposed experts trying to tell us what's good for us & what's not because it seems that every few months the findings on foods & beverages is changing,so we get a whole different story being Bs'd to us by the food experts. In my view peoples should eat what they want to and not listen to what's being dictated as right.

moderation is key, be active and you won't be fat(short of ACTUAL medical issues) eat whatever you like..the less processed the food the more likely your body will take kindly too it..so..real cheese real milk real butter real sugar make another pot of coffee, make sure my meat came from the animal it was supposed to..and my veggies and fruit were grown from soil, water, and sunshine somewhere, my fish came from a lake, river, or the ocean...my crawfish came from the mud..etc.

and guess what..the real stuff tastes a whole lot better :)

As I get older, I find myself eating better all the time. I broke up with Little Debbie a while back, and that helped alot. Little Debbie snack foods were always my downfall. I went from 225 to 185 just by eating right, and only eating plain oatmeal for snacks.
Obesity kills more people than cigarettes, and thats a fact smokin
