When you fall fast, can it be considered love, infatuation, or does it depend? It can be both things, but readiness is the key. Readiness to succeed, or to fail, determines a lot about the quality of the relationship. I was infatuated, last year, and the relationship had to end. The end was clean and quick, but I was not crushed. Bruised, but not crippled. Knowing that I can handle a bad fall is a big factor in being confident to take risks. |

When you fall fast, can it be considered love, infatuation, or does it depend? Falling fast is infatuation. Love takes time to grow. Infatuation is Hot. Genuine love is often Lukewarm but lasting. Even so, the only Love that lasts forever is spiritual love. Genuine love can fade as we grow and change. I'm told that is not a bad thing....and to learn to be okay with that. Still can't seem to wrap my head around that concept. |

When you fall fast, can it be considered love, infatuation, or does it depend? I've learned to question those who fall too fast for me. It's happened a lot and has now become a definite red flag. |

I can understand the heat cooling off, but the failure of love (and most of all respect) frightens me to think that it might be so. |

My first tendency is to hang on for dear life...
Maybe it is the uncertainty of 'what it is' that makes me hang on like that - I don't want to be hurt. The flip side is that the feeling of infatuation is delicious - I am currently enjoying a bit of that, even though I'm still hanging on by my fingertips. It won't take much to push me off the ledge, but I'd like to know he'd at least catch me and set me down rather than let me hit the ground bruised or broken. Time will tell. |

Mere mortals are faced with "change" all through their lives. It's a "gift". For sure, NOT a bad thing. The problem lies with not being able to accept it. Having been in a relatively long term relationship (24+ years) where my partner died, I've looked back and realized, "lukewarm" is equivenlant to "warm and fuzzy". Don't think you can find that "at first site" But whadda I know?!?!?!? |

No, you see, it is not seen as a "failure" or a loss of respect if done "right" - given and received, lived with nothing to regret. Its part of the journey. |

I think some of us can attest to that who have become friends with former life mates and loves years later. The quality of that "love" is different. We do change. Our love changes over time. No, it doesn't always fade. Sometimes, it grows stronger or remains constant. It depends on us and our life experiences. There is nothing wrong with "warm and fuzzy". Nothing at all. But, its not so hard to keep that lil spark going. Not really. |
