i think social and moral values should be held up to a person not a country.

what i choose to do is my right.

freedom isn't cheap but it's still freedom.

its like political correctness. where is the limit? to the point of lacking in intelligent conversation?

I DON"T HAVE TO TELL YOU NOTHING!!!!!!!

laugh laugh laugh Just kidding

I think most respect has been thrown out the window. People just don't seem to care about hurting others, as long as it doesn't apply to them, it is fine.

But it is a sad situation to be in.

you can't generalize the whole country to be like that because you had one or two experiences with random people!

political correctness is inane..its defeats its own purpose...
people are afraid of stepping on toes not out of respect but because nobody wants to deal with it..every one must be appeased and no limits set..there are no limits there is no discipline

there is no discipline there is no respect

freedom comes at the highest cost, few remember or realize that
especially here where complaints are merely quieted or appeased
we (as a society and a nation) have become spoiled and ungrateful

I agree to the utmost. I try to imply the values my parents taught me, Have, other people don't have that advantage.

One or two experiences with random people? Have you read a newspaper lately? The way people are being abused and neglected everywhere....the way children are being killed for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Like playing in the yard and a drive-by shooting happens a few doors down and they are killed by stray bullets....that is a lack of morals and respect.

I don't think we can base our assumptions on the liberal media any more than we can base them on random interaction with people around us. Where I think we can see lack of respect most is the microcosms of our schools. and I'm only two years out.

I don't base my assumptions on the media......I LIVE where this stuff happens. I see it first hand. I asked if the other poster read the news to see that it is not just a random few people.

the point is that no matter where you look, no matter where your experience and interactions lay..so long as you look around you
things that were once taboo are now okay, they are acceptable, permissible

regarded with the pessimistic air of "well what can you do"

its like the catholic priests saying that abortion is wrong...with the way things are I believe it is more wrong to bring a child into this world knowing it will not be cared for or loved..knowing it is unwanted, yet they offer no solutions to the lives of these children after "saving" them...

there are enough children being born already without parents or guardians who have love and care for their regards...

slightly off topic bust its an example

We all live in different places with different demographics, but the school remains a consistent gage of where we are going as a country, in my opinion.
