yes. def had it happen to me once. I couldn't no matter what be in a relationship with a girl that I was perfectly good friends with.

Yes, some "high maintenance" types, the "my way or the highway" types... in general most anyone who does not believe they ever need to compromise. It is important to think of one's self, however one must not think of one's self always. Especially if they truly do want to be in any kind of loving and fulfilling relationship.

I been married for six years. We never cheated on each other, never hit each other during fights, I got along with her parents(she didn't like mine, but that is only part of the problem) and we had sex almost all the time. BUT... the time we weren't having sex, we were arguing... eventually we had come to the realization that its not going to change and its not going to work out in the long run.

Things she wanted out of the relationship weren't what I wanted... so we decided to go our separate ways.

not only are some people incompatable.. there are those who are toxic for eachother as well...
my ex and i are both good people.. but you get him and i in the same room.. fireworks!! and never often enough of the good kind..

we are now good friends.. he lives in north carolina.. and i live in oregon.. and we dont have eachothers phone ##'s.. we communicate thru facebook..

lol.. the only way we can without wanting to kill eachother! lol

I'm starting to think that the only kind of compatibility is incompatibility.

I think there are many people in this world who live without empathy. If you get two of them together, there exists incompatability. If you get one with it and the other without, then you get eventual resentment and a failed relationship with bitterness and anger. Compatability in a relationship comes from trust, honesty, communication, consideration, and empathy. A tall order. IMO

I definitely think some people are more compatible than others and some people should never be together in a relaitonship. My ex and I just didn't work. I didn't even realize how incompatible we were until I started a new relationship and realized it shouldn't be a constant struggle.

Of course! The more you have in common, the better able you will get along. The less you have in common, the worse you will relate and feel comfortable with one another.
