Compromise is only some of the time. Side by side cannot be all of the time. Sometimes one person has to make the decision and let the chips fall. problem, who decides? it shouldn't be the man, it should probably be the one who has the most to lose, or toss a coin and set the rules. Whatever the decision no blame. basically relationships fail due to lack of communication, men say women communicate too much, women say men don't communicate enough. I say deal with the major financial aspect of the relationship as you would in the board room and love and sex as you would in the bedroom neither must affect the other. Good loving!!! 7 prosperity.

okay how about side by side whats wrong with that?

why does someone have to be in control? why not just compromise? i think both are wrong if you feel you have to be strong it may be cause your really weak? I think strong doesnt brag about it they know what the are and are confident in it. but nobody likes to get lead by the nose, woman or man. so honestly if a woman says they are strong its just a red flag to me that something else is going on.

A strong woman does not announce to the world all day every day that she is strong. A person can tell when she walks into a room, or speaks, or just how she IS. Where do you get off that is what a strong woman is about?
I believe too that no one person needs to be the controller in a relationship, and no one deserves to be controlled. A strong woman does NOT control a relationship either. Do know that please.
How does a woman who is strong seem only to be weak by you? I hope you see this that I post and answer. I really would like to know why when you see a strong woman you see a red flag as well.

Strong Woman being::
She knows what she wants...She has goals and tries to obtain them... She knows who she truly is flaws and all... She flaunts her weaknesses and her strengths with pride... She has standards.. She is determined.. She takes care of others...She is comfortable in her own skin... She is successful in the life SHE set forth to live....

she doesn't melt.

It doesn't intimidate me at all. spock...But, if she gets to the point where she signs her name holding a sharpie with her Hoo-Hah, then ok that's creepy and I'm running.

Well, that kind of woman is actually a good find, provided that she knows her place (follow) with the man. Nothing to be intimidated about.

However, imagine that she is strong but stupid. That would be an ultimate pain in ass mix.

Don't you think that it could just be the way we evolved socially?
After all, before the industrial revolution, back in our great grandparent's day and for generations before that, it just wasn't practical for women to be counted on to be the bread winners.
Men have it ingrained in their nature to be providers, protecters, leaders of the family unit.
I for one am not bemoaning the fact that the female of the species has come into their own. More power to you all. But with that power there's a trade off in some instances.
It's apparent from some of the men's responses in this thread that a good number of them see no negative attributes in a woman who's independent, strong willed and assertive. I suppose that in the fullness of time, there will be total eventual compromise between the sexes but for now and for the near future, at least, there will be men who see attempting to bond with the type of woman we're discussing here, especially in the extreme sense, a turn off because they see the type as being more masculine than feminine. jmo

I think there might be and element that men hold over from their Mother being in the superior role to them in childhood. They want a man/woman relationship and a "strong" woman might make for a confused feeling. Think about the OP's original definition of a strong woman and turn back the hands of time and see it there is another relationship that men have with another strong woman. Just a theory to ponder.

I'm just saying its condescending thats all....
If a woman made a condescending statement like that to me i would think she was selfish and self centered. If she didnt acctually state it then i wouldnt get a red flag. let me ask you "Why are women intimidated by a smart man?" exactly.... its condescending isnt?
