Being brave is doing a couple of things you do not want to do every day.

Being brave is telling your wife, yes your ass does look fat in those jeans.

Bravery is facing what you need to even though you feel you may not be able too or fear inside.
Standing up for what you believe despite what others may think or say. |

Bravery is facing what you need to even though you feel you may not be able too or fear inside. Standing up for what you believe despite what others may think or say. I recently did this, despite what everyone I know thought and said. I stood up for my belief that family stays together, no matter what. I bravely faced the problem(s), very afraid inside, and knowing that I felt I might not be able to. I wasn't able to honor my belief that family stays together, no matter what. It made me feel ashamed and like a failure. No, I did not feel brave. I felt weak, and cowardly. Only, the problem(s) were much bigger than any one person could face a lone, especially when the source had no desire or need to be corrected. My ego had me thinking I could change it, and a lone. False pride. Stubborness. Guilt. Too much hope. I didn't cause the problem(s). I couldn't control them. I couldn't cure them. That has been a hard lesson for me to learn in life. I remember that I have made this mistake once or twice before.... Maybe my belief was misguided or too rigid. Helped to gel by society, popular culture, music, the media, and family customs and tradition. Values. There are always exceptions to every rule. That has been a hard lesson for me to learn in life. I remember that I have made this mistake a couple times before.... Eros says you suffer, yearn, persevere in the face of adversity. I've never been able to accept agape; but, I know to be healthy, life affirming, and growth promoting, one cannot be sustained by eros alone. I haven't been brave here. I've been very afraid. Its not something I know how to do alone. I was never taught or shown. Like someone else said, there is a fine line between brave and stupid. Sometimes you have to know when to cut your losses and go. That has been a hard lesson for me to learn in life. I remember that I have made this mistake many times before.... My friends and acquaintances have always said that I am brave. Far braver than they could ever be. I never believed it. I don't feel brave today. |

Just because you don't feel brave doesn't mean you aren't brave. Good Luck. |

What does it mean to you? Has any one specific event given you the meaning you believe or is it a mix of things? Facing fears, real or imagined. Whether it be fears based in fact or fears my own mind produces, facing fears suggests courage. I really like one quote from a movie. I'll let you guess which one. Fear is the mind killer I will face my fears I will let them pass through me. |

Feeling the fear, and doing it anyway. This. |
