I'm sorry if that's the way it came off, lol, I know you didn't mean anything derogatory by your reply post, I was just kind of saying that yes, ironically, most of the stuff that gets people to that point is pretty basic stuff for most of us, but some just feel it more deeply and let it get to an extreme point, whereas most of us just shrug it off. Lol, sorry if I sounded snippy.
no need to apologise to lil ol me, an no you didn't come across as snippy, it's just this is a subject very close to my heart and i feared i had oversteped MY mark a little but thank you for the appologie all the same. |

The major reason for suicide is mental disorders...major depression, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, mood disorders... all brain chemistry imbalances. If folks do not stay on medications, and many do not, and self medicate with drugs/alcohol, their conditions can spiral downward, out of control. Some become psychotic and lose contact with reality. Some experience auditory and visual hallucinations of a command nature that tell them they are worthless, useless and to kill themselves and sometimes others. These conditions are much different that the occasional depressed or down mood we all feel from time-to-time and are only controlled with medication and therapy. Meds? |

...a person to take their own life? Trying to meet someone on line? Possibly. But, I certainly hope not. |

The ones who do it.....just do it.
The ones who aren't serious about it, talk about it and threaten it frequently. Yet oddly survive multiple attempts. It is a deeply personal choice. |

I am assuming you're asking if meds can help in these situations and yes, they do, the problem is many folks do not stay on them due to side effects or as a side of effect of the actual disorder they have, or they start feeling better and stop taking them. |

Meds stabilize the conditions. These are not curable ailments, they are life-long, but many folks lead happy, functional lives if they stay on their meds and continue in followup. |
