Feeling shut out and/or alone.
Feeling like no one understands them.
Feeling of being completely overwhelmed with life.

To loose all sense of ones self. To not be able to look at their lives and find one thing to be happy about. To think they would be better off dead than to feel the constant hurt and despair of their lives.

Desperation, and the loss of the ability to think clearly and rationally about the consequences, they see it as the only way to end the pain, and, unfortunately usually think that the best thing for the ones around them is if they were gone.

It could happen to any of us if the circumstances were right.

I wish I knew...

My brother took his own life 26 years ago and to this day we only can speculate as to why.

It's a matter of conjecture. What, in your opinion, would make anyone qualified? It was just posed as a question.

No, there is always going to be dissension, bad times, problems, people that don't like you or disagree with you, if you feel that you don't have the strength to pull through a situation by yourself, there are at least several people around you and strangers who have the authority to help. No one is better off gone, sometimes the ones around them just don't, for whatever reason, see how bad they are feeling. Loved ones can deal with you having problems, we all do, they can't deal with you not being there at all. It seems like a lot of bad stuff happens, is all around us, but we have to remember the good times too, and try to focus not only on them, but focus and set even tentative goals for what we can do to make things better for ourselves, try to be positive, and keep hoping...

Sure we are alive, but some of us know someone who has taken their own life. Some of us know of someone who feels overwhelmed at times. I had a friend who always used to call me when he felt depressed to that degree. He liked that I was there to just let him vent and get past the horrible feelings he was having.

Thanks, sweetie. You must be a democrat.

This is a really dark subject, maybe we should all ask ourselves why we are drawn to answer it.
There is one thing, an obvious thing nobody has mentioned yet.

Fear.

Is that not the base reason we do most everything?
