I went to dinner last night with my 2 friends from my bio class and my one friend brought her nephews. The kids thought it would be funny to give our waitress my number (as a joke), so they wrote down my name and number. We thought about where to put it, and just decided after my friend signed the slip for her credit card we'd put it there. I bet the kids $5 they wouldn't go up to her and tell her to call me, and sure enough they didn't because they were too scared. My friend decided to go up to her and tell her to call me and she actually told my friend her name and that she was gonna call me (supposedly with a smile on her face. Of course she never did actually call. Do you guys think this is disrespectful? I didn't actually like the girl or anything the kids, my friends and I just thought it'd be funny to see what would happen.

Disrespectful to play along with the 'game' and BS her way through it? Shows she has a sense of humor nonetheless IMO.

She probably figured that it was a bit of a joke as well, and that is why she didn't call. I am sure she has heard and seen worse, but probably not the best first impression. Since you say you were really into her anyway, I guess it isn't too big a deal. Seems a little goofy though.............

I may be missing something here, but I really don't see the point of the whole exercise. I would never give my number to anyone I wasn't interested in....just strikes me as pointless and maybe a little insensitive. Just my opinion.

I think it was pretty immature and showed poor judgment on your part in being able to show those boys how to treat a woman with respect.

What would you have done if she did have interest in you and she did call you?

Yep! I was going to edit my post and ask what your intent would have been if she did infact call?

I don't see disrespectful as the issue .. just the fact that maybe she thought you were really interested and woulda called, got her feelings hurt and such ..

noway Thought you were already dating a girl now??

Anyhow

I saw it as childish and definitely shows your immaturity to women. The outcome most could have been different if you had the balls enough to ask her to call you yourself. Ha ha.Plus like the rest are asking... What would you have done if she did call, which would have been a long stretch bc girls don't tend to call little boys have their buddies send out a message...

I don't see humor here at all. I see a supposedly grown man giving a poor example of behavior to a couple of little boys. I do have to say I see disrespect to the waitress. What would you have done if she would have really called. Gave the phone to one of the little boys.

Ditto, but.........then it seems you did not interest her either for she did not call you. But to me that in fact is the way a player plays their games with others feelings. shshhsnoway

I would give my # to a waitress........

Ummmmm...........if she asked for it.....

might not have been disrespectful....if it hadn't been a game........

Would have been better if the kids asked her if she would be interested in going out with their dad. That would have been cute. I've heard of couples getting together before because of sneeky and cute kids.
I had a young lady of 15 in a radio control helicopter yahoo group who found her new mom that way. Her mom died in an auto accident.
She was at the mall with hed dad, and saw this beautiful woman walk out of a store, ran over and asked her if she was married. lol When the lady asked if she was for real, and told her she was not married, she said come on, I want you to meet my dad, he's a hunk ! And the rest is history. I havn't talked to the young lady for a while because I bailed on the RC hobby a while back, but the two did get married, and they seemed to be an awesome family the way my little friend described it. The way she did it was real cute though...

Gee we just did it for fun, and the friends I were with were girls and encouraged it. I would have talked to her if she called and see if she wanted to go out just because I don't like someone immediately doesn't mean I can't get to know them. Plus my question was was I being disrespectful.. she didnt do anything wrong to us.

Lucky she had a good sense of humor and good self esteem. If she was sensitive, vulnerable, or had poor self esteem, you could have done some real damage. NOT COOL.
