New Pledge of Allegiance!
Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore Because the word "God" is mentioned.... A kid in Arizona wrote the attached NEW School prayer. Now I sit me down in school Where praying is against the rule For this great nation under God Finds mention of Him very odd. If Scripture now the class recites, It violates the Bill of Rights. And anytime my head I bow Becomes a Federal matter now. Our hair can be purple, orange or green, That's no offense; it's a freedom scene. The law is specific, the law is precise. Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice. For praying in a public hall Might offend someone with no faith at all. In silence alone we must meditate, God's name is prohibited by the state. We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks, And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks. They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible. To quote the Good Book makes me liable. We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen, And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King. It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong, We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong. We can get our condoms and birth controls, Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles. But the Ten Commandments are not allowed, No word of God must reach this crowd. ! It's scary here I must confess, When chaos reigns the school's a mess. So, Lord, this silent plea I make: Should I be shot; My soul please take! Amen |

Is so much better to remove God from the school and have Him replaced
with, drugs, rape and murder. |

It is true, I remember in high school, I had a teacher wanting to teach
me witchcraft, not the white magic type, but the devil cult worshipping type. I refused. For over a month, that was the subject, my grade point average went way down for refusing to participate. She sent home a note to my parents about my not participating. My parents were very upset with me until I explained what was going on. My parents were ready to go to the school board just when the teacher decide to quite teaching that and started teaching English again. I think the other teachers reported her. |

I feel bad for this kid too, because his/her mind has been mislead.
Because, this kid has been told by Christian mentors that the general public is against him/her. The truth has been withheld and in it's place a seed of religious bias has been planted. It is not unlawful for one to bow thier head and say a private prayer. It is only unlawful to forse those around you to participate. Obviously this has not been explained to this child. Instead the information this child now has is erroneous. That child feels righteous in their faith, not because they have a profound inner faith, but because they have believe what adults have told him/her. There has apparently been no education relating to the civil act of being considerate of others, only that others, not of his/her believe, are against him/her. It also makes this child believe that the laws are wrong, when in fact that only creates more bigotry. How incompetent the educators seeing such a poem, would hold it up to indicate a sad state of affairs, when in truth, they are upholding a sad state of education. |

beautifuly said Red....
it is a very sad state of affairs ,the brainwashing and instillation of fear in innocent children to follow the leader ...to blindly have faith in a non existent god... to be completely misled to feel you are a sinner if you don't "belong ".... fear driven , blackmailed into "correct" behaviour, covert and subliminal tactics used to manipulate the mind of children to get them to behave , to conform...to what..... look at where it's gotton the world.... from the moment they can be threatened with you are a bad little girl ! the devil will take you to hell!! and now i lay me down to sleep!!! oh oh oh no wonder so many kids wet the bed!!! terrified that they may die in their sleep and go to hell because they took an extra cookie..... pathetic seriously...and the poor child that wrote this.... will most likely become an abuser ok let's see the beautiful example of turn the other cheek now from all these god fearing christians lmao |

Redykeulous
That is hog wash period The word of GOD has been taking out of our schools... Ten Commandments have been taken out of schools. slowly but surely the word of god is being forced out of the public absolutely nothing is being forced on any of these kids as far as religion is concerned...it's a matter of choice but some of us have no choice our rights trampled on pledge of allegiance pushed out of schools any thing concerning GOD is taking out of schools that is where god belongs nobody is telling these kids they have to believe or read any of it he is not confined to a church here in Kentucky ball teams are not allowed team prayer. why? because 1 kid was offended, so everyone suffers. why don't the courts tell that kid to step aside until prayer meet is over? that poem was right on the money slowly but surely the bible is fullfilling itself |

I totally agree with Red and Alex.
Religious fanaticism is disgusting, spiritually destructive, and spreads ignorance, bigotry, and fear. |

Is it the childs prayer or the Lord's Prayer that is being referred to
as religious fanaticism, disgusting, spiritually destructive, and spreads ignorance, bigotry, and fear? I remember the Lord's Prayer in school. We didn't have to have armed security guards, metal detectors, narcotic dogs randomly inspecting our lockers, public health nurses handing out condoms and birth control pills to 12 year olds or give drug and alcohol counciling. Nor was it rampant of teachers having sex and relationships with 12-15 year olds. I got an education and didn't go to school in fear of being kidnapped, molested, drugged, raped, shot, stabbed or killed. And things are much better in schools now, now that they have removed the Lord's Prayer? |

I suspect the root cause(s) of the many problems we have with "today's
youth" may be a bit more complex than the absence of the Lord's prayer. It would be nice if we could introduce personal responsibility, discipline, respect, and many other positive qualities without tying it to one particular religion. Who are the role models? |

I know massage...it's not the "root" but was a snowball affect
thereafter. I agree that in today's society we cannot say one religion is right over another but, each is allowed to believe or not in what they do, and schools should at least allow those that have their religion/faith, to pray in school should they want to, and those that don't don't. Removing prayer altogether is not a solution to solving the diversity and faith issue. I am surprised that in todays world, that it was not amended to accommodate all, as one would think, in acceptance and understanding. Those that want to are allowed and those that don't, don't. How complicated is that? Personal responsibility, discipline and respect left schools long ago. Kid's no longer fear consequences for their actions in school. Do they even stand and sing the national anthem's anymore in schools? |

who are we --as the public-- to tell anyone
what they can or should believe maybe along with organised religion === the root of all evil the disbelief of is also a root of evil but ya know waht it comes down to is THOSE THAT TRY TO FORCE THEIR BELIEFS ON OTHERS IS WORSE THAN ALL EVIL what ever happened to live and let live i agree the school should not teach any religion but it also should not opress any religion neither and they do there has been kids suspended for taking thier holy books to school ---that is just wrong--- they have the right to believe whatever they want or whatever their parents want them to --until they become of age-- frankly there are to many that are trying to run everybody elses lives when frankly they cant run their own so lets just LIVE AND LET LIVE but hey what do i know ssshhhhhzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz |
