I have a 15 year old daughter and a 12 year old son. I am very proud of both of them on what they have accomplished and what I know they will accomplish. As a parent, it's very rewarding. For me, getting into a relationship with another woman with children does not intimidate me. On the contrary, I see it as an opportunity to help shape young minds for the better. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I pride myself on my skills as a parent - I have two wonderful children as proof of that.

If the guy bolts, let him. There are other men out there that are up for the challenge. Just be patient and keep looking.

when you get to know someone why as soon as they find out you have kids they leave you in the dust why does that happen

I think you are finding the wrong ones. My ex-wife had a daughter, and the woman I am starting a relationship with now actually has 5. I love kids, and this is just not an issue for me.

frustrated I have talked with a lot of men and women, both married and single about this problem.I have often heard especially men that when a discipline comes up the natural often say"he/she is not your child".a lot of women say that you have to accept their child in order to have them(i agree that a man should).I believe that even if I am not directly supporting the child,I believe that every time I do for the mother whether it is financial or spiritually,I am helping to make that child's life better and then be told that the child is not mine.I already know that because the child has reminded me of that every time i say something that he dislikes. One more observation is the possibility of disrespectful and out of control kids.Every want to be respected. If two people are getting together discipline should be decided on very early in the relationship.Remember it is hard for a man to idly sit by and watch any one disrespect his woman, even if it is her own child.

I was reading through the replies and I think all the possible reasons have been covered but I have a question.... If the person runs away, why do we care? Is that really the kind of person anyone wants to be with? Sure, I know none of us likes rejection, but by running away they do us a favor. We know who not to talk to ;)
Good luck!
