Topic: UPS did it again - | |

They lost my grandbabies Christmas presents - had 3 days to drive them 9 hours away to deliver them and, of course, they lost them. Yes, they are busy this time of the year and we had snow, blah, blah, blah.
Sorry if any of you work for UPS, I am not slamming you personally, but this is the second time they have lost a box of presents to my grandkids. Really sucks that they won't have their presents in the morning. |

I have personaly never had any problems with UPS FED EX or any other shipping company only ones I've ever had problems with is the damn USPS (United States Postal Service) thast right the good old post office. Anyways I've just never had problems but then again I'm smart enough to do my Christmas shopping be it online or not at least a month before Christmas but thats just me. BTW I order all my Video Games from Amazon.com and I'm a hardcore gamer, so yeah, I've had a lot of packages sent to me via UPS.

UPS is usually reliable, i'm sure it was an oversight..or something...coincidentally..(and this is old as dust) UPS and FedEx are combining..they will be known as FED UP.
Merry Christmas Marie |

Speaking as an employee of FedEx, I can hardly begin to tell you the sheer volume of packages that come through the plant every day at this time of year. Couple that with bad weather, and longhaul drivers being late with delivering the freight, meaning we have to bust ass to get it out to the delivery trucks on time, it all adds up to be quite a mess. The recent weather systems that have traversed the country have created nothing but havoc for delivery companies. Everybody is pushing themselves to get the packages to their respective addresses in time, drivers are upset, etc.
This is NOT an excuse, because all employees should take care in the handling of packages, regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunately, like anywhere else, some employees are either in too much of a rush, or they simply don't care. I can only offer my apologies for their behavior, but the public at large must also realize that we can't be everywhere at once. Not with thousands of packages to deliver every day. If you receive any damaged packages, your best option is to take the matter up with the company who delivered it. Most such companies automatically have packages insured to a given amount, and you may be able to file a damage claim. Incidentally, I think we've hired a whole ONE temp worker this season. |

Really sucks that they won't have their presents in the morning. Well, a lot of this you could have controlled yourself. By "three days" I am assuming you shipped these packages on Monday, December 22nd? Common sense would tell me that that wasn't a good plan on your part... And by "the second time" as this has happened... do I assume you did the same thing last year? Next year, instead of waiting until the last minute to ship stuff, and expecting miracles, ship the stuff about a WEEK earlier. Then you are helping your relatives get their stuff ahead of the last minute rush. If your stuff is getting lost (most likely just delayed big time)... be pro-active and mail early. Solves the problem. Sounds like you might need to learn that these places are SWAMPED this time of year. Put a sticky note on the fridge to remember that next year, and you can make things change by taking charge of the problem yourself. |

Incidentally, I think we've hired a whole ONE temp worker this season. That's how it is around here too, I have a family member who works for UPS. Gas prices a few months ago and the economy have forced companies to pack trucks tighter, push drivers to take even longer hours in busy times and cut hours in slow times. I'm sorry your package didn't make it in time Marie, but look at it this way......they will have more surprises on Monday and get to actually have time to enjoy opening yours. Next year, just ship them a bit earlier!! Merry Christmas! |

In a year or two, this we become a cherished Holiday Tale. Remember when G'ma sent those gifts and they got here late???? That kind of thing. I generally have had great experiences with both Fed-Ex and UPS. I saw the big brown truck making deliveries yesterday as I went to get my kids. I waved at them. There is a lot of snow up here and the roads are bad right now. I thought how they were trying to get those packages deliveried on Christmas Eve, helping make someones holidays bright, working late on Christmas Eve.
Of course if it had been MY packages that were late I may have given them the finger. |

There IS a positive spin to this... Christmas comes & goes so fast...just think! Your Grandbabies will have another Christmas on Monday!
