We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. think about it.....tha DOI was completed in 1776....the constitution was 1791.

DOI, was a general statement of how this new nation should work....

By 1791, it was decided that there was a need for something more specific, to base things from...the ideas for the constitution were derived from the DOI.....

I think this thread is in bad taste.
we all come from different backgrounds
not everyone celebrates as you do
and I am in no way offended if someone wishes me Happy Holidays versus Merry Christmas
I'm just happy they're wishing me well
it is ignorant to ask a vendor of any kind recognize only one religion.
for all you know the owner of that establishment is Jewish
would you be less offended if they said Happy Hanukkah?

DOI, was a general statement of how this new nation should work....

By 1791, it was decided that there was a need for something more specific, to base things from...the ideas for the constitution were derived from the DOI.....


the DOI as you call it was drafted with the purpose of DECLARING OUR INDEPENDENCE.
it is not an outline for our government.

Screw the "happy holidays" crap....

It was founded as CHRISTMAS....not HOLIDAY.

other cultures may believe in something other then CHRISTMAS....but IN AMERICA WE HAVE CHRISTMAS...
if you live in America....you should respect the culture of OUR ways....as americans should do in other countries....

I see it this way. If a store feels the need to be objective and cover all holidays with "Happy Holidays" so be it. That's there way of making everyone happy. but when I say it back I can say whatever I please. And I do.

What I think's funny .. you go into stores pushing for sales and putting up Christmas decorations to get people in the spirit .. and what is playin over head?

Exactly. And it is a historic document, not a constitutional one. We are not governed by the Declaration of Independence. It was drafted and sent off to the King of England and we were formerly declaring our independence. It was high treason and these Founding Fathers were scared sh1tless. It was punishable by death.
