Topic: Christmas Trees | |

I bought a tacky white artificial tree with clear lights. Ive never had a white tree before. I normally would have put it up on dec 1. This year was dec 3. But I havent had a tree in 3 years.
When I was growing up it was always a real tree and we would have to water it all the time. |

I prefer live trees. love that smell but I live in a pretty small trailer with lots of stuff. I dont have room. So I bought a little three foot pipe cleaner tree Yep, that's what I have too, one of those fiberoptic ones. I really prefer the real deal. I love the whole adventure of bundling up and going through rows and rows of trees to pick the perfect one, and yeah, the smell, it's the Christmas smell all through the house. |

They must be coming back. I haven't seen the other colors. I'll keep my eye open for them. The white trees are pretty. I have good memories of mine. The colored lights look nice on them at night. |

I try to re-create the smells with potpourris. |

papersmile and I were on the Woodward Ranch down by Big Bend. They have a cool little rock shop where we bought some nice agates
on the way into the rock shop the owner was pointing out these giant pine trees lining the back of the yard He said, "That was our Christmas tree in 85. And that one was 86, and that one was 87..." I kinda like the idea of plantable Christmas trees |

I use an artificial Christmas tree. Do you use an artificial Christmas tree? Or Do you use a real tree? Edit: When do you put the tree up and when do you take it down? I'm putting my tree up this weekend. I'll be taking it down after New Year's. |

I have a tiny artificial tree. I like real ones better, but my cat doesn't even let me keep the fake one up. He also removes all the ornaments. I don't know if I'm even going to try putting it up this year.

I don't have room for a tree in this place, but when I do, it MUST be a real tree. No exceptions.
Some things you cannot compromise on. Like Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. |

Mine also can't stand any bows on the presents. He takes them all off. |

In the 20 years I had my cat, never once did she ever bother a Christmas tree. She'd just sniff it a little bit, close her eyes and give one of those 'disgusted' little snorts, and walk away. She did like to curl up underneath it, though. I think she liked the pretty lights and the decorations.

I guess he thought the kitchen was a fun place to play with them. |

Well my cat always thinks everything is about him and for him I guess he thinks the tree and presents is just for him!

I put mine up today. I like to wait until at least after Thanksgiving and take it down around the first of the new year.

<---Artificial. Last time I had a real tree, I woke up and thought the thing was on fire. I ran up to it and saw that what I thought was smoke was really over a 100 baby spiders had hatched and were going from the ceiling above the tree to the tree and spinning webs. I picked up the thing and tossed it out side. Orniments and all. Never again with the real tree.

Had a fake one while growing up, but when I bought my house and while the kids were young, we went and picked out real ones. The past two years I have used a small fake one because I really wasn't in the Holiday spirit much.
This year my daughter wants to get a Charlie Brown tree. |
