ill never forget how we met.......against all rules we snuck off together from the party.... and were in total bliss when..


we were rudely interupted by the grownups..... parted amidst howls and crys of faithfulness , we swore to find each other at any opportunity.........


that was 50 years ago and thru everything and everyone
chocolate has been there, reliable honest and always sweet

the only one who visits when im hormonal and the one that says it all without a lecture......


it is love no doubt in my mind!!

where is the wine that will
take me to sweet abandon
i didn't taste it in our tears until
the sky unleashed a torrent
and we were once again
allonewater
and the pavement we fell on


i didn't taste it in our songs until
the music raged against the machine
and we took back
our drums and remembered our way
home

pass me the cup
to drink of you , of sisters and all
manifestations of
'this essence'
this abandon

that i find in the comfort of our dance

last year , i admired wines.This,

this year i'm burnt kebab !

thirst drove me down to the water

sounds breathe,exhale, us

i tasted you in my mouth
riding fast in the wind on my bike autumn exploding leaves under my wheels , a carpet of treacherous wonder peeling thru it i smelt you
somewhere i drank you into my lungs
and the taste is pungent like sweet onions

when were we ever anything else?!
but where would the tajine be without onions!!!
weeping as we slice thru layer after layer to toss across the blazing coals
roasting until the juices spill into the air sparks fly into our tears
the couscous is salted

i feel a stirring
a teasing hunger
feed me of this plate

a happy taste

breathe thru the reed flute
hear the call that will remind us
where home is
