Oh no Mirror you are just hoping to find a bunch of hot Witch babes who will tie you up, oil you down and worship you as their horny horned god for a while. Be honest now? blushing pitchfork
 In the past I thought Wicca was just something that heavy-set Goth chicks did, but now Im learning different. j/k

Yeah Sam to. Most of the heavy set Goth ladies I have met over the years in bars or at parties generally were doing the Satan worship thing or the "vampirism" with the diabetic 1/2 CC syringes. Then sometimes they get the fake fang caps made at the dentist but they dont really work all that well and mainly they just end up using them to harshly gum their victims.

It is like magick, but it is more of an exact science or program the way the connected universe manifests things and events from the Universal mind and energy brings these things into fruition.

JB

I don't see any fundamental difference between the 'Law of Attraction' and Witchcraft at all.

None.

They both talk about weilding spiritual energy (vibrational energy) that is being granted to us from a 'universal mind'.

The fact that Witchcraft recognizes physical objects as playing a part in the conduction, storage, amplification, and direction of vibrations (spiritual energy) isn't a significant difference IMHO.

And they both recognize a 'Universal Mind'. The only thing that Witchcraft does is suggest a visualiztion of human-like aspects for the purpose of making communication with the Universal Mind more palatable in human terms.

They use the Moon to represent the Yin, and the Sun to represent the Yang, and they use all sorts of elemental relationships to identify with various aspects of emotional and spiritual power (or vibrations)

The only 'difference' is that Witchcraft seems to place slightly more value on the power (or vibrations) of preexisting manifestations, whilst maybe some people may view the "Law of Attraction" as being more mental (i.e. it's entirely observer-created by thought and all of physical reality is but a mere illusion) Therefore the mind can easily override any physical manifestation if it really wants to. I think Witchcraft might be more elemental than this allowing that we must be in harmony with all of the vibrations that already exist.

Witchcraft might actaully be grounded a bit more in the material world than the 'Law of Attraction'. At least from the point of view of some people. Like me. bigsmile

In other words, the Law of Attraction tends to see everying arrising from 'The Source'.

Well so does Witchcraft. However, Witchcraft also recognizes the energies that are readily available within current manifestations!

Sure you might say that the Law of Attraction does too. However, many of the rituals and spells of Witchcraft are actually designed to transfer and transform existing energy from one vibrational state into another.

And it uses methods associated with objects that also exist in the manifest world.

It's not all about the mind.

The mind may very well be what is controling these energies and frequencies, but just the same it is the manifestations of the physcial world that is vibrating.

This is why I find Witchcraft much more attractive than the less 'earthy' ideas of a purely mental 'Law of Attraction'

I see the value in the Witches tools.

They are far more than just props. They are participants in the vibrational processes.

Take away the tools and you cripple your connection to the vibrational fields.

This is how I view it.

Also, if you suggest that the Law of Attraction also recognizes the value of preexisting material manifestations, then all you've done is agree that it really is just 'Witchcraft' spelled differently.

I don't truly see any difference at all between the two to be honest about it.

I'm drawn to the tools of Witchcraft. Although I will agree than almost any tool can be used.

In other words, a person could use anything in place of a dagger for an Atheme, for example, and it would work just fine.

However, I like the ancient traditions. Using a dagger is cool.

There's nothing magickal about a dagger. It's how the object is being used that ultimately gives it its power to conduct, store, transfer and transform vibrational energy.

I'm not convinced that this could be done with your hand alone. The reason being that your hand is too much a part of you and therefore cannot properly act as a free oscillator.

The blade of the dagger provides a free substrate in which to channel the energy.

This is why I bought daggers that are 14 inches long. Lots of blade to vibrate. bigsmile

Swords of sorcery.

I was curious about Scientology, so I did a little reading. In the course of my research I found a connection between Wicca, UFOs and Scientology. What I discovered is how Aleister Crowley used ritual and Cabbalism, to "open portals for beings of extraterrestrial current". This is how he came in contact with the "inter-dimensional entity" named "Lam". He is described as being a grey being with large eyes, remarkably close in appearance to the grey alien used to describe extraterrestrials by UFO enthusiasts, and victims, alike. Mr. Crowley referred to Lam and his fellow greys, as "Enochian entities".

Groups such as the Golden Dawn, and the New Isis Lodge, use ritual magick, with diagrams or line drawings, known as "signatures of entities" to "open the four gates of extraterrestrial entry into, and emergence from, the known universe". It is thought that these entities are seen (and appreciated) in a certain consciousness. To bring about this alternate consciousness, Aleister Crowley used his infamous sex rituals, which were known to even involve animals. One of his well known followers and fellow workers, named Jack Parsons, in 1946, partnered with a man named "Frater H". And they made contact with entities, like Lam, using magic rituals called "Babylon Workings". Frater H, I read, is L. Ron Hubbard, science fiction writer, and founder of Scientology.

Scientology teaches its followers in steps, that we humans inhabiting Earth, are space aliens from a million years ago, who are working out our karma until we are "clear" or basically, attain (what so many of us desire) Cosmic Consciousness. Scientology sets up (very expensive, very long lasting) sessions designed to "clear" us.

Very interesting Mirror.

I met a guy here in Springfield who was into a lot of the golden dawn witchcraft and he wanted to work with me to open a portal to the next (or astral) world. We were getting together once a week practicing exercises and stuff.

He was able to see things... or else he was totally psychotic I don't know which. I believe he may have been in contact with other dimensional beings or else was just psychotic. It is hard to tell or make a judgment about that when we are taught to believe that people who see things and hear voices in their head are just crazy.

And yet I have to keep an open mind about other dimensions because I think it is very possible.

Anyway, he confessed to me that these beings spoke to him and told him to do bad things. I did not get into or ask what bad things he was being told what to do... I did not really want to know. It was kind of scary.

Anyway he said he refused to obey these evil voices and he said that they were very angry with him and they told him he had broken his agreement with them.

I was trying to guide him into a more positive form of magick away from the opening of a door to the astral worlds.

One day he just died. He was a young man and he did drink a lot to silence the voices and took medications for his hallucinations. I inquired of his death and I was told he had a brain aneurysm.

So logic would say that the brain problem was the cause of his hallucinations or you might also imagine that these other dimensional creatures, if they are real, could have caused his death because they were angry at him.

Its all in what you believe. I try to keep an open mind.

Hey Mirror,

I love your mouse photo! That is so cute!

Unfortunately being the pragmaticist that I am I can see where it's not exactly a failproof method. sick

So I worry for the poor thing's safety.

I have so many mice running around in my cottage that they tend to do it even in the day whilst I'm watching.

I just don't bother murdering them so they keep multipying.

If a woman came in here she'd accuse me of living in a rat's nest. laugh

And she'd be right! ohwell

I guess I need to bite the bullet and start murdering mice.

I was going to buy those humane traps that catch them live. But they're $15 a piece! These mice need to come up with some kind of fund raiser to save their lives.

I actually did catch a few in paper bags and carry them out side to a far away place in the forest across the road.

But the traps like in your picture are only about 50 cents each. pitchfork

And they are effective. I have used them before.

A mouse trap is a perfect example of the devious nature of humans.

Put out the yummy looking cheese... and then SNAP! Its all over.

The natural way is probably worse. My cat like to torture the mouse for about an hour and then leave it half dead on my bedroom floor.

I think my cat is trying to teach me to catch live prey. laugh laugh

I bought one of the battery operated mouse traps that shock the mice to death. They work like a charm. No mess, no smell, all mice dead.
