I know this has been asked b4, but I can't find it I have, in the past, and it always works out well, for a few months, just like the original relationship, before it goes ker-plop into the toilet. Again. There is only one ex I would try with again.... |

usually only if they have done something stupid and hurt my feelings- i'll give a second chance for them to make it right- but that is only if i have incredibly strong feelings for them- otherwise i don't go backwards.
but cheating? NO NEVER!!! that is unforgivable and i don't tolerate it. I don't cheat and it better not be done to me. I sound hard but Im not. I just have too much self respect to tolerate that kind of behaviour in my life. |

If you take someone back after you know they have cheated, all it tells them is you will take them back when they cheat.
There are certain criteria where its not the best idea to take someone back, violence and cheating, lying and stealing!!

I've never given any of my ex's a second chance. If its over, then its over. And honestly, I don't think I could think of any valid reason why I would give them a second chance.

Depends on what the second chance is over...
Did they forget an anniversary? Did they say something horrible? Did they cheat or were they violent? You are gonna have to judge for yourself, but the basics of a relationship are usually the same second time around. I'll grant that people can learn and change, but generally it wasn't healthy then, it probably won't be if you try again, IMO. |

I think if they agree they had a problem at the time, and go into counseling, it at least shows they want to make an effort to make things right. Now if it happened a second time, it's out the door!
