Topic: What will we eat in Heaven? | |
---|---|
In the Christian's view of heaven, do you think people will eat? If so what do you think they will eat? Fruits and veggies? If you really enjoy eating, how can you be happy in heaven if you don't get to eat? If people do eat in heaven, then do they have to go to the toilet? If they have to go to the toilet who do you suppose built the sewer systems, and are their plumbers in Heaven? Has anyone ever thought of these things? |

Some people think you won't have any cravings you now have on earth. Eating and sex will be obsolete. This sounds terrible right? But maybe not if you actually don't want anything.

Some people think you won't have any cravings you now have on earth. Eating and sex will be obsolete. This sounds terrible right? But maybe not if you actually don't want anything. With no desire for anything, how can there be joy? With no desire for anything, what would motivate creativity? I can't imagine a place like that, it would be Hell for me. |

I think that too, but how would you know unless you were there? What if you have a whole new set of desires? What if you are in a permanent state of bliss? There are a lot of things I like to do on this planet that I hope will be transferred over, but what if it isn't, and I just don't remember anything that I once thought was cool?

It won't be heaven without an Eastern Pennsylvania Eat-n'-Park resturant.
I don't know about other states, or even if they are consistent across Pennsylvania, but the Eat-n'-Park resturant near me has superb food. In particular their soup and salad bar which is very well kept and always fresh and crisp. Everytime I go there I feel like I'm in heaven and the waitresses and hostess are like angels. Of course in My_Heaven® everything will be vegetarian so the menu would need to change a bit. The skirts on the waitresses will be a bit shorter too. However, overall owl grow my own food in beautiful organic gardens that I personally keep up with my kubota tractors and attachements. |

Maybe the stock market and fluctuating gas prices is ALL you will have to concern yourself with for all eternity. And I would wager that in heaven they dont have internet bill pay either. |

There are a lot of things I like to do on this planet that I hope will be transferred over, but what if it isn't, and I just don't remember anything that I once thought was cool? One thing that has never made any sense to me about the biblical picture of God is that when God created this world he supposedly 'saw that it was good'. What went wrong then that all of a sudden it's not good enough anymore? I mean, I know that man fell to sin and all that, but surely the world didn't change dramatically because of that. If God saw that the earth was good, I'd think that would be a pretty good indication that he felt it was pretty cool. So I just don't understand the view that a lot of religious people have that somehow the earth (and physical existence itself) just isn't good enough. Also, wasn't there something about Jesus ruling on the earth for some thousand years or so after he comes back? Why would Jesus bother ruling over the physical world if he doesn't think it's so hot? It just seems to me that there's a huge inconsistency in the religion right there. God creates the world and sees that it's good, and then all of a sudden the religion starts claiming that it's a sin to like earthly things? Where did the religion get off track? It seems to me that this is a huge fundamental inconsistency right off the bat. |

Heaven sounds pretty crappy to me, i hope i dont end up there. It sounds boring to me, well hopefully not as boring as the bible what with its endless genealogies and such. I think I would rather spend eternity in hell just so long as there is something engaging going on, being stuck with a pitchfork or what not. Im most fearful of lack of stimulation. |

I am asking people what they imagine heaven to be like, not what they can decipher out of reading Revelations or any other book. |

Okay, first of all, Revelations isn't a bunch of "gobble dee gook" when read correctly, Revelations is a very inspiring book that helps you see what life is and will be like should you choose to side with Satan or God. Also, Revelations depicts the future of what is to happen amongst the nations of the Earth, and I tell you right now, a lot of it is beginning to happen. It was written over a thousand years ago yet it describes what is happening with the middle East and Russia. It describes how nations will rise against each other which is happening now with the oil crisis and the problems in Israel, Iraq and the rest of the middle East.
anyway... sorry for the rant. It depicts in REVELATIONS that within the city of New Jerusalem, there will be a tree on both sides of the river which flows from the throne of God. These trees will produce fruits all year round and that the people of God will eat of it. Also, outside the city of New Jerusalem there will be nations among nations. We will eat and not hunger, but we won't be gluttonous. Food will not be hard to acquire because we will no longer have to toil the land to produce crops, rather fruit producing plants and veggies will be abundant year round. Now... what I can't tell you is what exactly will be on the menu. Or how it will work, but I can tell you that there will be food, we will eat but there will not be a gluttonous appetite because our bodies will not be the same in heaven as they are here on earth. |

I think fruits and veggies will be the food in "heaven" and that they will be eaten only for enjoyment. Nourishment will come from the light energy itself. As far as revelations is concerned, the writing is so ambiguous it can be interpreted a million different ways. Nations have been rising against each other since their beginning. That is what a nation is. (A country is not even recognized as a country unless it has a military force.) Revelations can be interpreted much like a tarot card. Every individual sees something different in it. It has meaning according to the meaning it is given by the one reading it. JB |
