Grandmother sues McCain for hate speechDavid Edwards and Stephen C. Webster
Published: Friday October 17, 2008 A Kansas City grandmother is suing John McCain and Sarah Palin for promoting hate speech. Mary Kay Green told KSHB that some statements at McCain campaign rallies terrify her as much as the assassination of John F. Kennedy. "I know the secret service is on this case, but John McCain and Sarah Palin can stop some of this by a statement that they abhor these death threats and will not tolerate them," said Green. The 66-year-old civil attorney, a lifelong Democrat, claims in the suit that the McCain campaign has intentionally and recklessly portrayed Barack Obama as a terrorist. Green said, "You have to take these things seriously." Green believe that Palin has been working crowds into a frenzy. There have been reports from McCain campaign rallies with words like "kill him," "off with his head," and "Muslim terrorist." According to Green, her father managed the Nebraska campaigns of John and Robert Kennedy. After both were felled by assassins, her father died "of grief." "I think John McCain and Sarah Palin have no understanding of what we went through as a nation," she said. "[The lawsuit] will be dismissed as soon as I hear public statements from these two candidates that they abhor these death threats and that they will not tolerate these intruders in their audiences." KSHB has more details This video is from MSNBC.com, broadcast October 17, 2008 http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Grandmother_sues_McCain_for_hate_speech_1017.html |

What happened to the days of 'sticks and stones may break my bones..."?
Don't get me wrong. I believe what was done to be 'low road' and 'rabble rousing' but hate.... come on. I wonder what this country would be like with honest politicians who could say what they mean and treated the electorate as capable of making up their minds on issues instead of emotions? And that goes for both sides. |

I dunno.. I think the lawsuit is basically to get the word out.. I personally am a democrat and I do work in a majority republican environment. I DO feel the pressure from republicans in various different ways...When asked at one point why I would vote for Obama - "Don't you know he has ties to terrorism...or that he is Muslim..." I all too well feel the effects that John McCain and the Palinator have put out with their rallies. They have republicans screaming because they say things like this... I think the lawsuit is just something to get attention, yes... but maybe it needs attention. I mean when people are saying things like..."Well, I can forsee Obama being assasinated within 6 mo.s of his term" this kind of ideaology is absolutely caused from a majority white mentality who is still stuck in 1965 or whatever... who still believe that black people should drink from separate drinking fountains and shouldn't be allowed in the same restaurant as them. Absolutely uncalled for...IMO

It just goes to show how hateful the left is in their GOP witchunts. Expect more of the same if they get elected. I have experienced what life with DEM majority is... only there is no press to come out screaming like a bunch of lunatics when LIB DEMS break the same laws they legislate.
PLEASE! Don't talk to me about accountability...it's a one way street with democrats. They like to point fingers. the only thing good about a win for them is they will now have to lead...come up with ideas that actually work!!!! Instead of blaming others that is. Then they will have to live with the outcome. |

Then they will have to live with the outcome. I find the GOP much quicker to point the paranoid finger- but that's OK. I take majority to mean the ability to pass any law or legislation you chose without opposition to block it. You have never experienced what life is with a DEM majority - just as we have never experienced life with a rebuplican majority - due to checks and balances. The best thing that could happen for this country: a complete landslide on all levels. Because then there would be no one to blame but themselves when things screwed up. And I would bet every dollar I have that neither party really wants that much power because they both do like pointing fingers. |
