I've read on these boards support for Gen. Powell, often from posters trying to prove they aren't racist. "I'd vote for Colin Powell if he were running" is the typical refrain. It's sad that people think they have to prove they're not racists, but I digress... |

Yes you can say that, why not? you can't give that as your reason on here because you'll be called a racest There was another thread going on along these lines a few days back. It's clear when you post in honesty on here, people just aren't ready for that big of a dose of reality. Most prefer to sugarcoat it and say what they think most would like to hear. Blacks are on record saying "In my gut, I feel that McCain would be the best Candidate, but because Obama is black, that's who I'm voting for". |

Winx...in my heart...and...in my soul...it will always be an issue...I was born and raised a Catholic...I NEVER miss church...I'm 53 years old and cannot change what I feel about this...I'm sorry...but...I just can't change...as far as changing Roe vs Wade...that's my intention at all...I just can't vote for someone who agrees with that decision...thats all... I go to church too. My child goes to a Christian school. This is how I look at it. Roe vs. Wade is not going to change within the next 4 yrs. There is a bigger picture here. People need jobs. The economy is in a recession. I even see an connection here. It's a circle. Economy is good, people have jobs, people have an education - less abortions could happen. I also don't agree with abortion. But..I feel that I don't have the right to make that choice for my neighbors. |

My father said that Obama would be even farther ahead in the polls if he was white. And the fact that he is ahead and is black, says a lot about him. |

well...good luck in your job search...the economy is NOT an issue with me...I'm pretty much a social conservative and thats how I always vote...In 30 years or so...I'll be long gone...then the country can go in any direction it wants...lol...afterall...your talking to a guy who believes he was born 50 years too late, and who's hero is Archie Bunker...LOL

well...good luck in your job search...the economy is NOT an issue with me...I'm pretty much a social conservative and thats how I always vote...In 30 years or so...I'll be long gone...then the country can go in any direction it wants...lol...afterall...your talking to a guy who believes he was born 50 years too late, and who's hero is Archie Bunker...LOL I'm not looking for a job. But...the value of my house has dropped. I can't sell it right now. I look ahead 30 yrs. I have a kid. |

Must add to the thread - Powell endorsed Obama. I know, and my mind hasn't changed. He might endorse him, but he isn't brave enough to get out there and campaign for him.

Throws hands up. I have received comments for saying child all the time and now I receive a comment for saying kid. I can't win.

Obama just had two rallys in MO, btw. The one is St. Louis had about 100,000 people. The one in KC, MO, had about 700,000 people. |
