wonder if either ss or medicare will be available to us at our retirement age?

I think entitlement is the wrong way to describe social security and medicare, it's called that appease us now, but there is no real security no matter what you call it.

Brokaw: How would you solve the health care issues facing Americans.

McCain: I would have them log on to the Mingle 2 forums to have all their health care questions answered. laugh

DEBATE TRANSCRIPT:

Hamm: Should the United States respect Pakistani sovereignty and not pursue al Qaeda terrorists who maintain bases there, or should we ignore their borders and pursue our enemies like we did in Cambodia during the Vietnam War?

Brokaw: Sen. McCain?

McCain: Well, Katie (ph), thank you.

You know, my hero is a guy named Teddy Roosevelt. Teddy Roosevelt used to say walk softly -- talk softly, but carry a big stick....

POINT: Walk softly? How about shuffle and use my cane? laugh

Obama is promising anything and everything now. You will get it! Low cost health care! You got it. Jobs for everybody!! You got it. Magical disappearance of partisanship? It's yours! Cutting the budget? Sure! Why not? Balanced budget? That's HIS plan! Help with your mortgage? You betcha! We can do this!! Help paying for your kids' college education?! Obama will get it for you!

Obama is ready NOW. Ready to promise you anything! Don't worry it will all magically happen - just vote him in and you will SEE! You must believe. End to the war in Iraq?! Let him do it, we'll pull out tomorrow! Repercussions? Whatever - that's the Iraqi's problem. He will hunt down Bin Laden! Oh YES! Preserve all out social programs. Without question!!

It is just incredible. I marvel at how he does it.

Kinda like clicking your heels three times and repeating, there's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home.

I agree both candidates are offering and promising what 'we' the public want to hear, and once in office a different set of priorities will arise, like for every other President.

Mic - see you real soon
Key - why because I  you
