Morning Suz flowerforyou

I never received a single penny and glad to say it didnt take away from a single thing from my daughter, so whether it can be done, yes absolutely, should it is another matter winking.

I agree both parents are/should be equally responsible; monetarily, emotionally, physically all those 'ly' words we think off.

I don't know any women (personally) that chose to stay home (single/married/divorced), they have to work if they want to eat and feed theirs.

I know of many custodial parents that work - just to pay child care expenses, rent - point is no luxuries.

But I am a realist, I do know both men and women abuse the system when they are able to.

Unfortunately, I know of a couple, including my former sister-in-law and my mother. My mother worked but she felt that my dad should keep her in the style to which she would have liked to become accustomed. If my dad got a raise, my mother filed court papers the next day to up his support. I think my dad lived on the exact same income for 16 years because my mom got it all. He lived in lousy apartments and rental houses and drove a car that was literally falling apart. There were many many times he borrowed money from his siblings just for gas money to visit us. So, I'm probably more sensitive than most on the subject. And it's one of the reasons I don't go after support. I'd rather have a good relationship with my ex and have my son have a good relationship than fight about money. And my ex (I hate to admit it) is usually pretty good at splitting expenses, eventually anyway laugh

Is tngxl your ex? just kidding Suz waving

I'm glad when people can work things out, especially when it comes to the raising of children. Money is not everything, but it sure can provide security, comfort, but not love, guidance and nurturing.

Here's the flip to your side, my mother (3 kids) and father split up eons ago mutually and supposedly on good terms. At first he paid support, he met someone and decided his money would be better spent on impressing and lavishing his new love instead of making sure we (his kids) ate. I was the one living in small apts, thats all mom could afford, sharing a room with my brother and sister until way past what is now assumed as appropriate. He in turn first stopped sending money, stopped visiting, stopped communicating. He bought himself a home here; a home there; for himself and his new bride. We went without but we were loved...

So there is a story for both sides flowerforyou good thing we make sure our history is not repeated on our children flowerforyou Suz
