Kinda what I was thinking Morena, how many of our minimum wage making
Caucasians would be out in the strawberry fields and fruit orchards
working long hard hours picking the fruit for minimal amounts of money
with NO BENEFITS if they were not here doing it.

My daughter is married to an illegal, they have tried to go the
legalization process, costs thousands of dollars and much red tape. He
can't get any kind of medical coverage, etc., hard to find rentals,
jobs, etc., no social security number.

The only illegals I know of getting welfare are the pregnant ones coming
across the border and delivering in the US then the baby is a citizen
and entitled to benefits, and the mother's pregnancy is paid for. Don't
know about anyone else getting welfare.

Me!! I do the same work for less than they do!!

And VERY soon your children and grand children will be their slaves

In answer to you asking who would work in the fields....


They dont just work in the fields. They have taken over the construction
trades as well, at least here. Hell I see them working for DOT. Those
used to be good jobs with benefits. The workers in the fields, you talk
about are migrant workers. The gov has screened and allotted for a
number to come here under a work permit, they have for years. They are
here legally, and the number is based on the need. That is a arguement
Ive heard before. It dont float!!!!
In the mean time they are using resources that cost the taxpayer money,
and lowering overall pay. This it turns out is a double blessing for big
buisness, they aquire cheap labour and the States pick up the cost of
health benefits. ca'ching!!!

the government order a commishioner to do a study on the immigtation
effects on everything from cost to the government, crime, and the
lowering of american workers pay scales. It is called the Dillingham
report, you can google it, anyway the results showed that they needed to
drastically curb immigration, and that is where the laws, that the
government doesnt enforce today started.

Sorry Fanta, didn't know that side of the coin, only saw it from my
daughter's side. Had no idea DOT was hiring illegals, that totally
blows me away. I worked for prisons for 17 years and never did see any
illegals get hired there, in fact, they had a big deal about proving
social security and legal status, etc.

I was just stating it from my kid's point of view. Her husband works in
restaurant's, owned by legal Mexicans, who tend to abuse the heck out of
them, work them for 60-70 hour weeks and pay them for 40 maybe a few
more hours, who they going to complain to?? Amazes me it is their own
country men doing it to them. Have seen this repeatedly. They
complain, get fired and boss hires a new illegal who won't complain.

I frankly worried when my daughter married him for many reasons, don't
want the grandkids to suffer discrimination, etc., being half Mexican,
etc. And, if he should get killed in an accident, they would not
receive any Social Security benefits, etc. Just my two cents. Have a
