values have corrupted the idea of love and turned it into a common word we use out of lust, or worse than that, spite. It is used more as a tool of hurt than it is to heal, inspire or nourish the soul. So I'm curious what is your definition of love.

love is a very hard thing to find... even harder to know when it is real and unconditional, b/c all of the sudden conditions come up and you realize "maybe it wasn't love at all but deep like"....

Very similar to some of the most uncharitable people who occupy the front rows of the pughs of the churches every Sunday.
THEY ALL TALK ABOUT UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. None know the meaning of it and when it come to exercise it they ALL stall. |

Love, they may have it for their own but still possibly the same rule applies that I meantioned, "Once something arises that requires unconditional, for some reason there are conditions" |

The truest love is when u want the other person to be happy whether they r with u or not.
Love imo, is selflessness, putting ppl or things before ur own needs. Love is the warmth we feel in our hearts when we r happy, and wanting to share it. |

love does just not always happen it takes time to build ,a true lasting love is nourished and protected ,you can love someone but like Joy says you must have faith in it know it is unconditional ...loving someone and being in love is two very different things ...example I love my ex still ,but not in love with her very different ....takes time to build that unconditional love !!

Mine is this: I recently fell in love, and what I mean by love is the kind that lifts your heart and makes it flutter in your chest every time you think of them. It makes you wonder how you ever lived without them before they came into your life and that you would not survive if they left.
Everyday just hearing her voice makes my world complete. She is the first thing I think of in the morning and the last before I sleep. Love is caring about her well being and never want to hurt her or anyone else she loves. It's also knowing that you want to wake up every morning the rest of my life with her by my side giving me that special stare that tells me she is mine forever. That's what love, true and unconditional love means to me. |

Someone once gave me some poetry....I remember one of the lines as saying: "Being next to you brings me so much joy.....like a small child and his very first toy." |

Children, the lot of them. We all are children in a sense, it's only a matter of how childish we each are. We all have our moments where we are selfish, dishonest, hurtful, vengeful, greedy, or impatient. I've found it's easier to not hate someone if you think of them as a lost child who doesn't know any better.
I feel it is the childish laziness and greed that has degraded to difference between love and lust in this world. I've found myself screaming at televisions every time someone is attracted to someone on TV and they claim to be in love. Love at first sight cannot exist, such a thing is only a meaningless crush based off of sexual desire (AKA lust). That is not nearly as bad as those who use the word love to gain something. To me, those are some of the worst kind of people... which is horrible, because I shouldn't judge people... |

But we all do Joshy, human nature/instinct I know, disgusting isn't it? That's what I was saying. We humans never grow up, it is our nature to behave far more like children than most realize. Despite my efforts, I can never shake the flaws this frail mortal... human body has, both physical and mental. |

Called being lodged somewhere in our DNA sequence. Ah, but flaws and seperate idiosyncrasies are what makes each person unique. Be boring if we were all the same. So true it would be boring if we were the same, but it is not only the negative aspects of our personality who make us who we are. The positive, more "mature" qualities like compassion, honesty, responsibility, and love also make up our over all personality. |

True and I hold that love, closely followed by jealousy and greed, are the strongest emotions. I say this because I have done a few absurd things in the name of love that I look back on and say WTF was I thinking!.

Love, in my humble opinion, is what you make of it. Personally I like to think of it as 2 people (or all people) coming together and working for one goal. Being conscious of their strengths and weakness/likes and dislikes and using them to the utmost advantage. Whatever it may be, I truly believe it can conquer death and go on forever.
