I'm happy.
I've been single for a year and I must say that after a painful struggle, I am content with my single life. The biggest problem I run into is a paradox of sorts. (These following comments could apply to both sexes, I just happen to date men.) The more confident and together a man is, the more attractive he is to others. However, this usually means he doesn't want to change his life. (What if it ends up bad?) On the other hand, the more miserable and lonely a man is, the less appealing it is to date him. Unfortunately, this usually means he needs someone to change his life. So those of us that are searching are often left with the option of attaining someone undesirable, or desiring someone unattainable. Crazy life huh? But at least some of the stops along the way are fun. |

I'm trying real hard to be happy with myself.
And failing miserably. |

I have a lot of crazy stuff going on in my life right now so it's causing stress. I also have pnuemonia so that isn't helping. I have been in better places in my life than I am in now. But I am happy with who I am.
Don't sweat the small stuff and let the big stuff take care of itself.... |

I'm happy with myself, but I hate being single. I don't want to be joined at the hip with someone, but I would like to have someone steady in my life. I miss being able to talk to someone (other than girlfriends) about the import things that happen in my life and the silly, trivial things too. i agree |

...I was at a time of my life where i was happy being single, in fact, i felt safer, so i wasnt looking for a relationship at all. And thats why i believe it comes to u when u dont look. I had prioritized other areas of my life over a relationship, then a time came where i just fell in love. I totally agree with this post! It was exactly the same for me. When you really focus on yourself and being happy with who you are, you become intensely attractive. I, too, was not looking for a relationship at all when I fell into the loving, fantastically amazing relationship I am in now. He is truly an additional to my life in every way. If I hadn't focused on myself first, I don't think I would have been receptive and ready for what I have now. |

Overall, I'm happy with my life. I have a great family, great friends, and I love my job. Its just that little piece to the puzzle that's missing: Mr. Right!

I seem to recall a thread in which you decided I wasn't having good dates because I had somesort of a problem. "It's me, not them", in sum.
I'm happy to say I'm dating someone and it's going quite well. It's only the early stages, but I'm happy to have butterflies and rainbows. |

I am not dating anyone at the moment, but I am happy with myself and with the way my life is going at this time.

My post was meant to cause introspection. Right or wrong(in fact let's say I am wrong so we don't debate this), I felt you were giving up on the dates before they had begun and each date was an exercise in seeing why someone should be eliminated. I believe in a more positive approach while dating. The negatives are so easy to spot. |

We read a lot of people who ask why they can't find someone, we also read success stories. Here is a chance to say how you are doing with dating/relationships at this moment in your life. Are you happy? Sad? Why do you feel either emotion? I'm G2G .. |

I'm really happy for you. It's a great feeling, enjoy! I do go into every date with a blank slate. It is entirely possible that due to my profession I am more likely to pick up on "red flags" sooner rather than later. It is what it is. I can't apologize for that. It's so not a matter of right or wrong, it is just that if I get a bad feeling on a date I don't think it's beneficial to excuse that behavior and try again. I just accept the "bad vibes" and move on. In other words, I don't want it forced or try too hard. Dating should be fun, right? I met someone with whom I have fun and get no heebie jeebies. Where it'll go? Who knows and I've no designs on that. I'm just going with the flow. Have there been flags? Yep. I'm sure I've thrown a few myself, but they aren't negative. It's just the imperfections and differences in us all. Thanks for the reply, DD. |
