I have a kid at home so 99.9% of the time, I am cooking for the both of us. But when she goes to a friends for the evening and wont be home for supper, that's when I take full advantage of going out to a new restaurant where I've never ate before. I don't have to worry about if it caters to children, I don't have to worry about being asked out on a date to try it out, and best of all, I can enjoy a meal that someone else cooked and I don't have to clean up the mess left behind!

I've been in and out of relationships and STILL pretty much spent all my eating time on the road alone.
And seeing all the couples and kids enjoying them selves out was depressing.. But, such is the choices I have made to live. 
And many a waitress has been my only hello's and goodbyes... But their smiling when I leave even if they were mad when zI first arrived,wink,,the little things in life, to me. Are sometimes the coolest....

I hear ya though! I fortunately love salads but geez oh man...they do get old don't they?! I loved to cook but for one, it's difficult! Somehow I gained 9 pounds this summer & I mostly ate salads. I didn't have bacon bits & fatty dressings either. I am tired of salads. I want to have a bbq or go out for pizza & beer! & I want someone to talk to while I am eating, then go for a walk holding hands! Ok Red, I will do all of the above although we may look funny holding hands
