Topic: This may Get A Tad Heated

There seems to be a lot of conflicting ideas about Mithra but one of the most interesting one I found here, and it has to do with the way they thought the earth was in the center of the universe and the sun and stars revolved around it. It has pictures and everything. Very interesting. I am thinking that the Mayan Calendar may have been based on this idea. It explains how they knew about the "precession of the equinoxes" and why Mithra was pictured killing a bull. It is all about ancient astrology and astronomy. http://www.well.com/user/davidu/mithras.html Since there were no actual written text about Mithra it is hard to know the full story of this myth. The cult was kept very secret and only came to surface about the same time Christianity did. (That is the connection.) Both cults became popular about the same time, but the Mithra cult had been practiced in secret for hundreds of years. Christianity, with the advent of the written scriptures endured while Mithra did not. The power of the written word. JB

This is more along the lines of Greek Myths.......oh you people so reach it's making me laugh hysterically...... You think that Christianity isn't along the line of Greek Myths? No you have me laughing hysterically. Winged angels? Demons with red skin and pointed tails? The God truning people into pillars of salt? Flooding out the entire planet to flush away the sinners? Oh, yeah, and the need for blood sacrifices? How is it any different from the Greek Myths? It's every bit as incredulous. Again abra your warped sense of what it says in the Bible....no wonder you don't get it..... Always the same blah blah blah.....please come up with something new.......because this is boring me.

It's a cult and praying to false idols........ Muahahahahaa Judsiam, Christianity, and Islam are all the same religion. They all worship the same God. Yet look at the hate they generate. It's impossible to worship false Gods Feral. Anyone who believes that they are worshiping God is worshiping God. Period. God couldn't blame them for having made a mistake. If they don't realize that they are worshiping false Gods who's fault is that? Cleary it's God's fault. God is the only one who can point out to them that they are making a mistake. If he fails to do it, then he is allowing them to innocently believe that they are worshiping him when they are not. How you cannot see that is totally beyond me. It's impossible to 'accidently' turn away from God and then be blamed for having 'purposefully' turned away. That's the failure with all these religions. An all-wise God would know better than this. But clearly humans are too stupid to understand this simple concpet. It woudl be totally unrighteous for a God to blame people for not believing in something when they weren't aware of what the real truth is. Such a God would be totally unrighteous and therefore it would not be divine deity. Such a God could be unholy. It can't be that way. Period.

Are you saying that the Biblical God never flooded the planet to drown out all the sinners? Are you saying that the Biblical God never asked for blood sacrifices? I have no understanding of the Bible? Excuse me, but if that's true then every copy of the Bible I've ever seen must have been a fraud. Could you please send me a copy of the correct book then. No wonder I have the wrong picture of things. I must have been reading forgeries all my life. You'd think God could get the correct book distributed. I wonder how many other people have fake copies of the bible? Hmmm? No winged Angels? No pillars of salt? No great flood? No blood sacrifices? I'm looking forward to reading the real Bible that doesn't contain these things. Please send me a copy of it ASAP!

And also know that every man will "KNOW" and fall before Christ.........so there you have it......all will realize what is false and what is not at some point.....ohhhhhh what a beautiful thing... And yes my friend you are so right....Only God can point out to all the mistakes.....but here is the ticket.... YOU HAVE TO LISTEN All people turn away from God accident or other.....and in most cases I notice it's because the person didn't get what they wanted, or they thought they could rationalize the way they lived.....But it just doesn't work that way......ever....It is what it is....believe it or don't.....that is your "God" given right.... I say stop with the religion....take it out.......get to the point here people.....That is God.......get it right and live as "He" wants........All people in all the world will have the truth......But again will they listen......hmmmmmm put a different spin on things.... What the hell are you talking about? Everything else is false? How would you know? I’m assuming you just latched onto this Christian thing relatively late in life. That’s the vibe I’m getting anyway. Something caused it to happen. Be that as it may, you have NO RIGHT to presume to tell me or anyone else what is true, or real, or valid in their lives and their particular situation. How dare you. This is the problem with the religion. It creates an illusion of being pious. And it just goes downhill from there.
