I just spent $300 on a plane ticket to meet someone and more during the stay. Some people don't have that kind of money to get together that often. IMing, talking on the phone, webcamming, it's all good for a while, but eventually you need physical presence. Then comes the problem of up and moving to another area. Not everyone is free to do that. While I understand some LDR's can work, it can't be easy!
