Topic: Is the truth more important? | |

Why do you not tell me Mirror. You are coming dangerously close to me making another one of those boards. Just saying. How are you tonight Mirror? I am doing just fine. Just sitting here listening to my AC. OK sounds rather boring now that I put it into words. |

Is the truth more important than someone's feelings?
NO. People are important. Feelings are important. It can be unimaginably cruel to say some things even truthful things - in some instances...when it would be just as easy to say nothing at all. I ALWAYS recommend the book: Words that Hurt, Words that Heal... by Joseph Telushkin Think carefully about what you say and if you really need to say it. Err on the side of silence. Read this book. It will change the way you think for certain and likely the way you speak and act. |

I'd rather be a pariah and have my self-respect and integrity, than be popular and without.

As long as I am speaking the truth (not opinions) I don't care who I offend. I am so over the PC crap! And even though its a quote, I find I live it.. It is better to be hated for what you are, than to be loved for what you are not.

Truth--Sometimes it hurts, but it always prevails. If someone asks me for their opinion I will be truthful. But some things are best left unsaid.

Truth--Sometimes it hurts, but it always prevails. If someone asks me for their opinion I will be truthful. But some things are best left unsaid. Truth and opinion are two totally different things.... Truth=facts Opinions=feelings and thoughts. Indeed they are. However truth can exist on many different levels. Opinions may be based on feelings and thoughts, but truth can still coexist. And I believe the question was, "Which is more important, truth or feelings?" I believe they are both equally important and should coexist. |

You can be honest while being tactful. Just try, "It's really not my style," instead of, "Oh my God that's the ugliest scarf I've ever seen, Granny!"
