I went to college and grad school in Louisiana, so I made it down to NO a lot! Bourbon street is fun, but is shure does stink in the summer! Spring and fall are the best times there.

They actually sell liquor pretty much anywhere. You can get it by the bottle in most gas stations.

They also have drive through dacqueri stands, just like fast food but with frozen drinks. They put a piece of tape across the straw hole and its considered a closed container.

One more bit of trivia, by state law all bars are required to offer 'to go' cups for beer you paid for but could finish.

How cool is that? Great state for the college years!

In Canada we have 2 stores for booze. The Beer Store, and the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario). So we can't get it at the grocers. It's a whole different trip

When I started college in LA, the drinking laws were messed up. You could purchase at 18 but couldn't drink until you were 21 (to comply with federal laws and get highway money), but they never enforced the 21 part.

When I was 23 they changed the law to 21 across the board. I knew many people that went from being able to buy at the bars to no being able to get in the front door.

Legal drinking age in Canada is 19! Except for in Montreal...... It's 18 there.

Sara, you were right, I talked to Laura a little bit ago, and she's gonna come down to the store and hang out with me. I already feel much better. I'm still gonna chug that freaking beer when I get home...but now more because I have to cook for a bunch of people....
