I have a close friend who is in a relationship with a guy I feel is not suited for her. He doesn't take her on dates, barely calls her, does not buy her any gifts(flowers, chocolates, etc), and I have not heard him compliment her once. My friend is blinded by love. Should I tell her she can do much better or just leave it be?

You should tell her but unfortunately she will most likely learn on her own in time.

As much as it has to hurt let it go so she can learn on her own, but one day you will need to be there for here when this jerk breakes her heart.

Nope...this is something she will have to figure out on her own unless you want to take a chance of losing a friend....experiencebigsmile

why don't you introduce a little anarchy into the situation and show her a real guy and how he treats a woman?? find a good example and show her that there are better guys out there for her

I lost a friendship over my mouth with regard to her guy. I learned that sometimes I have to just be ears for friends, and keep the lips zipped, as she just didn't want to hear it or believe it.

leave it alone, it isnt for you to decide if hes right for her or not.. Youre intentions are good and more likely then not youre right he isnt good for her..

Leave well enough alone ...for the sake of your friendship

Maybe their relationship is deeper than dates and flowers...maybe what she sees in him goes on behind closed doors? We can't really know what is between our friends and their relationships, so I would trust that she's doing what makes her happy and just be happy for her...unless she takes to wearing big dark sunglasses indoors. flowerforyou

My best friend, no matter WHAT he thinks of who I am with will say, without fail...

" Dude, if YOU are happy, then I am happy for you "

If things don't work out ( obviously they haven't or I wouldn't be here ) then he lets me vent, and things go on.

If you decide to say something, and end up with a bad taste in your mouth, I've got a large bottle of XXX Virgin Olive oil, to massage your feet.
That way, the bad taste is better, and easier to get your feet out of your mouth.

i was gonna say something to this affect, but DTH put it way better than i could.drinker

the best thing you can do, as she is "blindly in love" as you put it, is to let her be, and when it does fall apart, be there for her 100%.

but under no circumstance, tell her that you knew he wasnt good enough for her, in the grieving process, that would just piss her off towards you.

good luck to herflowerforyou

I remember a female friend of mine telling me about an incident with her best friend.

Her friend had her hair cut in a bob and all the guys at school were laughing at her behind back.
So my female friend told her what was going on.
Her friend accused her of being jealous and they fell out. They had been friends for 5 years previous. They never made up!!!!

If you are really concerned with your friends happiness then yes, say something but say it in the right way to her.
This may sound odd but maybe your friend is happy the way things are. Time will enventually tell but stick by your friend!!!! Do what you think is best!!! Good luck!!!!!
