I wish you guys were kidding. (I know, you are not) I live right in the heart of Texas. I just had a burglary of my home stopped two weeks ago. Caught the 22 year old guy and his 17 hear old girlfriend. The are being indicted for 7 burglaries. Do I want them to get probation? Do I want them to have the most horrible time in prison that I could hope for? Answer:...I want them to hate every last minute in prison ....perhaps they will learn a friggin lesson! If they come back to try to rob my home again...I do hope one of my neighbors are considerate enough to put a bullet through them. If you want the kinder and gentler treatment of people who would do you wrong where you live...more power to you. Out here...you throw them face first into a cactus. |

Sorry Texans, but I am sick to death of hearing about Texas.
Must be because of the current President. |

Um... Death penality. If you guilty you get punished. I think it should fit the crime. i.e if you beat someone to death. That should be your punishment. If you started a fire that burned someone to death that should be how you are excuted. Very few of those that have commited delibrate murder can truthfully claim they did not know the difference of right from wrong. We... As a society have the right to exact swift punishment to protect our community from predators. You da man Ad! ![]() ![]() |

This reminds me of one of my favorite sayings, you may have read the book it from.

Ive never heard tell of anyone in prison who didn't claim they were innocent!
This country is becoming filled with bleeding hearts. Either that or they are just more vocal.. |

Please sign my petition to return Texas to Mexico where it belongs.
la la la hahaha Who's mad now? Texans I hope. Seriously, doesn't it piss you off that a man born raised and educated up east, who adopted a Texan accent, bought a fake ranch, wore a cowboy hat, mismanaged multiple businesses and used his position as the governor just to leverage a presidential campaign to do well haha look at what he has done. Here's a question for Texan posters. Are you still ready to claim Shrub ( a name Molly Ivens a Texan sung on him) as your own? |

I agree...death is a strong deterent against crime.
The problem with our country is they passed the guilt on to the idea of SELF defense & the idea of capital punishment. The best DNA is met when someone gets shot by their victim in self defense. |

Gee so it's okay to execute innocent people thereby allowing the true criminal to escape punishment and perhaps kill again?

Death penalty would still be a great deterent against murder in this nation.
So is self defense & the right to bear arms. Our founding fathers would established this country knew what they were doing. They also knew that a people who could not govern themselves would be governed by tierrany. So what's that say about all those social engineers who tell us the death penalty along with the right to bear arms is wrong? |

Pick the barbarian...
A country that lops off the heads of murderers and child molestors making certain that no one else comes to harm. A country that puts murderers and child molesters into prison for a few years, then lets them out through a revolving door criminal justice system so they can murder and molest again. |

I'm about to catch hell for this but oh well.
So those of you that are against the death penalty would rather the Ted Bundy's, Jeffery Dahlmer's, Green River Killer's, Son of Sam's, Wayne Gacy's, I could do this forever, live out the rest of their lives in prison? Unfortunately there are those innocents who have been convicted and put to death. It's not a perfect system but I'd rather have it then one that lets the murderer of an innocent child take one more breath. |

They need to abolish death penalty. ![]() so how come the "prolife" crowds never show up to protest these events?? or is it the life of a condemned man isnt as important as an unborn fetus...? are they not all "god's children"?? |

Our founding fathers could never has imagined what is going on today. That was over 200 years ago. They made it so it could change and boy has it. Im sure they are all turning over in their graves because of whats happening here today..

As I'm sure your comments would be of great comfort to the families of the victims murdered by the men/women who get to live out their lives being fed, clothed, housed, and having their medical needs taken care of by their tax dollars. footnote: Hanging is no longer done by any of the 50 states in the USA. |

I am not against the death penalty I am against the inconsistent way it is applied. It is obscene that someone is sentenced to death when their attorney sleeps through the trail.
For ever false conviction there is likely a truly dangerous person walking the streets. You law and order hang 'em high folks seem to keep forgetting that. As for letting people out who have committed violent crimes early well, in most cases the reason is that there are simply not enough beds to house already over full prisons. Some solutions; build more prisons, quit sending people with small drug offenses to prison and use alternate sentencing for non-violent offenders. Keep the rat bastards who commit premeditated murder, rape and who molest children locked up...forever. If you put every person convicted of murder or manslaughter to death it would only decrease the general prison population by a small bit still leaving huge numbers of persons to be managed, housed and fed. Oh, and before someone argues that you can pack them in ten to a cell because after all they lost their rights are not considering those that work in prisons. Guards and administrators health and safety in prisons like that would be at significant risk. The U.S. sends a greater percentage of the population to prison than any other western country. I am not sure but our prison population percentages may be the highest in the world. Someone has to pay for it and that someone is you and I. So, if you don't want the animals who commit violent crime out walking around then come up with a way to keep them locked up. |
