I would put it away in a CD and draw off of the interest. I mean think about it.. If you put 1 million dollars in a CD at 6%, that would be 60,000 a year. 5 Million at 6% would be 300,000 a year. I think I could live on that for the rest of my days and still help others.

Oh.. And did I mention I would also hire the best tax lawyer out there? So I could pay the least amount of taxes as possible.
Also if your money is in a CD the government cannot tax it. They can tax the interest you withdraw however. |

I would invest 1/3 of it, use 1/3 of it for living expenses, and give the final 1/3 to charities. This was the philosophy of William Rockefeller, and I think it's a good one. It only makes sense, of course, if you have a certain amount of money. Even though I live an opulent lifestyle, 5 million qualifies.

Who needs 5 mill? Really. Many are more needy than me. I've always got the capacity and capability to earn...many others don't. |
