If you have ever been in a relationship that you have not felt free to be who you are, did you leave, or try to change?

Why would you even get in a relationship where you couldn't be yourself? Cause if you aren't yourself, then that means you are a fake, right?

If you have ever been in a relationship that you have not felt free to be who you are, did you leave, or try to change? Their loss...not mine, I am who I am all the time. |

I'm always myself..before..during..and after a relationship...if you feel the need to be somoene else in a relationship then it's not the one for you.

for me, it was gradual. we were together for a total of 15 years, and i felt myself going from a generally outgoing, happy person to somewhat of an introvert. i've been on damage repair since we split.

First, I tried to change. My husband wanted me to be perfect.
The perfect wife, the perfect business partner, the perfect lover, the perfect housekeeper, the perfect secretary and he wanted me to be his mother on top of that. He wanted to be adored, respected and worshiped and he treated me with less respect than he would treat a total stranger. He had no clue. He thought he was good at playing the game and good at mind games. I left him. I discovered I was perfect after all. If you want to get rid of all your faults, just divorce your judgmental spouse. |
