Good point. It's sad there are so many here who have no idea what you are talking about. The book 1984 by George Orwell predicts a society much like the one we now live in. Words are changed to become politically correct. No one questions authority. False stories of conflict are told to the populace and instantly accepted as fact. If you haven't read it then do so.

Interestingly, I recently listened to an interview on NPR about science fiction. The premise was that science fiction really portrays the mindset of the society/authors perception/ in the time it was written in. What about "1999"?

I had to read this book in school as a class assignment. Didn't think much of it then. Now, it's amazing how much it applies to what is going on today.

This is true. And it's going to get worse. there are too many sheep in today's society. And too many loud mouths that have NO idea what they are spouting off about.
