Topic: When Is The Age DIfference To Much?? | |
---|---|
It seems to be quite the trend for older women to date younger men lately. But what do you feel is too much of an age difference? I'm sure everyone knows about the lovely soon to be ex wife of Hulk Hogan, Linda dating a 19 yr old. Do you find that disturbing? What could he possibly have goin on other than the obvious?

for me personally any age with a "teen" on the end of it is too young, even early to mid 20's I find too young for me, JMO

I personally wouldn't date younger than 37-38? I guess. And no older than early 50's..
With the younger men, a lot of them have never been married and have no children.. I'm done with the idea of ever having more children.. so that just wouldn't work. If he came with children, that's great. |

For me personally, when they are young enough to be my kids.

I have a rule I follow when it comes to dating someone younger than myself.......
*If I could have possibly birthed him then he is to young for me. *For those of you who don't understand the math: A female is capable of having a child when her periods begin, usually around the age of 13. So therefore, lets say he's 25yrs old, I'm 41yrs old. 25-41=16 Thus I coulda birthed him, so he don't stand a chance with me. |

ok think about this
ur 41 less just say u like a 20yr old why would u want to raise another child when yours are all grown up can't be that old story about young guy an never ending sex not true 30 is a cut off i think an that all is based on how well he holds him self in life even if u find a man 35 to 45 an he takes the little blue pill what would it matter he's taking it just to make u want him more than you've ever wanted any one so here ya go love only has an age if it looks like your dating ur son don't ask any one who u should date just be your self an just be happy |

Here's my rule for mandatory minimum age. The age of my oldest child plus one year! haha
Before you all freak out I was a mother at 17. I am 49 now. My last long term relationship was with a man ten years younger than I am. The funny thing is that he'd known me casually for some time and wouldn't tell me his age until after I dated him for a few weeks. He said he felt sure if I knew the age difference I wouldn't see him. We dated for almost three years and are great friends still. After a certain point I think age matters much less than attitude. |

I don't have an age limit, but I have never met a guy younger than 28 that interested me. And, even that was pushing it. I would prefer to be with someone within 5 years of my own age either older or younger.

Age doesn't really matter as long as you have things in common... if you can carry on a conversation without having to google the lingo, you're okay! And as long as it's legal!

If my daughter could be dating them I have to reconsider...or if they are looking for a mommy (sorry, I've already raised mine!)

what irks me... especially around where i live... is that a 50 yr old man can date an 18 yr old girl and nobody notices. but if an older woman dates a younger guy... be expecting to be struck down by a lightening bolt... or at least by the sneers people send your way. the way i look at the sneerers... they are just jealous! LOL.

All things being equal...they are not equal.
Ladies mature younger than males...I think. If it is biological or otherwise, it just is. And, ladies are able to bear and nourish young for many years longer than is popular. Men are generally unequal maturing with females until in the thirties and up through the fifties. IMO And...after a female ceases menstruating, there is an entire new life open for her exploration. There is so very much involved in a woman's decision to devote to a relationship, in my opinion, after the childbearing years. But she has the time to invest; men do not. I can almost calculate the days of life left to me, at my age. The number is less than 10,000, and perhaps less than 5,000. If I find love to last for a few thousand days, I know that she will outlive me, regardless of whether she is now in her thirties, forties, or fifties. This is all common knowledge. Therefore it is logical for a woman in her fifties to choose a man who is many years her junior, with the future in mind. But love is not logic. Love is reason enough to dare and to be worthy, or else it's supreme value above all society and all logic is untrue. We do not choose love. Love chooses us. We choose to enable ourselves to be free and open to love. |

In love, there is no mandatory differential age limit. There are those established by law, morals, and peers. I usually date 15 to 20 years younger, but not due to a plan. However, Ive found women of that age (late 30s) so often are near perfect for me: they've decided it's their turn to be made happy. Fewer choices for me, but fewer mistakes.
Age is a consideration for me 'cause I'm physical and active and love to play; certainly I need someone like that - so many people are physiologically old well before they are chronologically. If I'm gonna keep my muscle dense, I expect my mate to put forth a similar effort to stay on top. Let's not pretend physical ain't a big part of our judgment of age difference. |

LOL. Does that mean you're dating an 18 y/o? no... i'm 40 and i've been dating a 24 yr old. what i was getting at was how people tend to judge older women with younger men more harshly than they judge older men with younger women... at least where i live. |
