If you feel that she's too young for it, stick with your gut. I didn't
get mine until I was A LOT older and I love it, but I also went through
school and got my career in order first. Stick with what you think is
right.

If my daughter came to me and asked I'd tell her no.

Well call me old too for I did not let mine get tattoos or those type of
piercings till they had graduated and paid for them themselves my son
asked why I would not let him get his tongue pierced once told him that
at least if he waited till he was 18 and had to pay for it himself maybe
he would change his mind he never got the tongue pierced. His cousin did
and got real sick Dr made him take it out and they finally got him well.
But... he did do the ears finally took them out and does have some
tattoos but at least they are with taste and look good. So I still at
this time think that is too young but yes so many are getting it done.
Ohh like the eyebrow that is sad for when they do that piercing and then
take it out it does leave a scar the kids that I know that had that done
did regret it.

Hey thats not as bad my best friend has a 9 year old sister that has
one... but the advice i could give you is that most likely if she dosent
get it now shes going to get it regardless... so my recommendation to
you is take her to get it to a proper place that is , and get it done by
needle!!!! trust me i had a buddy that was a piercer and you don't want
to know what the gun is about, just get her to put a stud in although
the ring is easyier to clean, and make sure she stays on top of it!! a
nose ring is the least of your worries i mean really she could do worse
hhaha so like i said if it was my sister or my daughter i would take her
to get it done.

IM TRUELY THINKING THAT IF I SAY NO THEN SHE MIGHT TRY TO GO SOMEWHERE
AND DO IT THE WRONG WAY. LIKE HER FRIEND DID LAST WEEK WITH A SAFETY
PIN. OUCH IS ALL I HAD TO SAY. BUT THAT GIRLS MOM JUST LAUGHED ABOUT IT.
GO FIGURE.

As Dennis Miller said "body piercing is a fashion statement that says:
In this already highly competetive job market what can I do to make
myself even LESS employable." If you don't think that employers look at
such things and base hiring or not hiring on them you best think again.
I know that there is strong peer pressure to be like the rest of the
crowd, but in a few years the crowd will be gone and you will have to
support yourself.

My 15 year old daughter got her toungue peirced when she was 13. I was
none too impressed, but she got her father to sign the consent form.
I feel that teenagers will regret peircings and things like that when
they get to be adults. Let's face it. Our thinking and tastes change
over the years.
Good luck with your decision.flowerforyou

i took my sixteen-year-old to get her tongue pierced...she took it out
of her own accord a couple of years later.

i did my OWN nose at sixteen, because nobody around where i lived
offered body piercing. i did my own hand and lip as well, and
bellybutton. all of those i removed after the novelty wore off...or
when they began to annoy me, for whatever reason.

i repierced my nose when i was twenty-seven, and kept it for another
year...i loved it at that time. but i've let it go, again.

the only one i keep is my tongue. it's for me, not for anyone else...

for me, it would depend on the child. my first nose piercing, my nose
almost rotted off...it was severely infected and quite nasty. mucous
membranes don't like being pierced, heh.

with my daughter...she brought her grades up to straight a's, and all
she wanted for a reward was for me to sign. she paid for the piercing
herself. for her to get those a's...it was quite a haul, since she has
severe learning disabilities and adhd.

hi there everyone...i have a nose piercing, a little bauble...but i was
49 when i got it....i am happy i am older getting it, as they can be a
nuisance sometimes, coming out, and twisting internally etc. Mind you
it's no big deal for me, but at 14 i don't think i would have the self
assurance to carry it off, nor the individuality that it gives me
today...

I think the cultural arts are a very important part of our growing
up...and experience to see Rent will be something she will never
forget...plus if you go with her she will be sharing in some great
quality time with her God mother....also an irreplaceable memory....the
nose rings will come and go, but a lasting memory can never be taken
away!

lastly, the bottom line is how well do you know the birthday girl, and
what do you want to feel by the gift you give?

good luck..either, either or.....your love will show through!

Its only a nose ring. Its harmless. Let her get it and she'll be happy.
Its not like shes asking for a tattoo, thats when you should worry, lol

I got my toung pierced when I was 23 and my nose done when I was 16. And
I do not regret them one bit. I reather like them. I feel naked with out
them. So yes I would say yes. If she does not like it then she can take
it out. It is a LOT better then going behind your back. And trust me a
LOT of people can not handle the pin.

yeah the old adage, if your friend jumped off a bridge would you? is
good to follow here doesn't matter what everyone else does. Too many
people do **** just because others do it.
