I hope the next President hires an avaricious imperialist to find him his VP, only to have said imperialist him hire himself and proceed to run the country from the cardiac ward at John's Hopkins!!! YA.....That sounds like a great idea. Vive Le Halliburton! Sidebar: We can't even properly outsource a war anymore. EEESCH Ahhhhhh, I love it when I can smell my own sarcasm in the morning. It's cathartic! |

The followinjg was taken from Ronald Reagan's farewell address to the nation:
An informed patriotism is what we want. And are we doing a good enough job teaching our children what America is and what she represents in the long history of the world? Those of us who are over 35 or so years of age grew up in a different America. We were taught, very directly, what it means to be an American. And we absorbed, almost in the air, a love of country and an appreciation of its institutions. If you didn't get these things from your family, you got them from the neighborhood, from the father down the street who fought in Korea or the family who lost someone at Anzio. Or you could get a sense of patriotism from school. And if all else failed, you could get a sense of patriotism from popular culture. The movies celebrated democratic values and implicitly reinforced the idea that America was special. ================================================================ Disagree respectfully and people listen - throw in insults and people sometimes don't hear you. Nothing wrong with "informed patriotism". Name calling is just childish but I guess it just makes some feel better. |

There is nothing worse in this country than Americans who hate America. You obviously like the fact that you can express your thoughts freely. It really ticks me off to hear people bash the president, no matter who he is. You can have opinions and disagree with things, but to bash our president is just wrong. Try doing his job for a day and see how relaxing your life is. No matter who gets elected, I really believe in respect for the presidental office. There is a difference between hating America, and hating what this President does and stands for. The two are not the same. Why should we stand idly by while he disrespects the Office of the Presidency that so many before him have honored? The President is not America! The American people are America!!! |

Ok now watch I'm about to get ambushed again. |

40 years ago this week as this then nine year old got ready for school, the man on the radio told me Robert F. Kennedy had been killed. What I haven’t known for forty years was that as he lay dying, he was conscious and asked, “Is everybody all right?” Those were his last words.
As our economy unravels and all but the rich are at risk of unemployment, inflation and a devaluing of our currency as a nation, my hope is that our next President shares the sentiment, “Is everybody all right?” |

If you only knew what is really going on behind closed doors..... And where do you get your inside information that makes YOU the expert here? yaya is right. No matter what mistakes a person makes while in office, at least HE (only because there has not been a female yet)was wiling t step forward and volunteer for the position. Keep in mind he is only human, just like you, me and yaya. If you think the position of President should bestow omniscience then I suggest you run for the office, or if too young, then start grooming yourself towards being able to run for the office. Do not belittle or condemn a man for trying to do his part. And before someone comes in *****ing about war crimes and all this other bull$hit, keep in mind that there is absolutely nothing but hearsay as far as evidence. I don't care who states what or who writes what; it is hearsay, and hearsay is not legal proof of anything, so do not go stating that President Bush (or any other President for that matter) commited crimes of any nature, unless there is incontrevertable proof (not opinion) that he did indeed do so. |

Actually I do know what is going on. I have a good idea of what is happening and has been happening for some time now that many people are unaware of or don't want to believe, and it ain't pretty. and how does a 20 y/o kid fresh from his mothers arms know what is going on in the white house? |

I understand your feeling's but Bush got us in a war without an end and insane told that he was afraid that if he told he didn't have wmd's that Iran would have attact his country and they would have!!!! So you do not agree with his decision about the war. Did you step forward and offer to be president, to make those hard decisions? I dont think so; but I am still young enuogh that I dont really remember too much past regans admin, so maybe you did. You have the right to disagree with his choices, Ia gree with you oin that. However, dont disrespect the guy bwcause he made a bad decision (or so you feel) |

Try doing his job for a day and see how relaxing your life is. No matter who gets elected, I really believe in respect for the presidental office. Believe what you may, till you have a son who you must send to war because of what some idiot thinks....we have every right to bash him and bash him I will...he is a friggin nutcase... Actually by letter of the law you do not have the right to "bash" him or anyone else. It is called defamation of character and slander. Just because people are not held accountable for it normally doesn't make it right. And keep in mind your son is a grown adult who chose to go into service. You, personally have absolutely no say in the matter. I honor your son and everything he has done for our country, but this attitude of mothers stating (and fathers too), that they have to send their sons off to war is nothing but pure b.s. Also, what would you have had our forefathers do when it came time to fight the British (sorry Brits )? not send the males who were considered old enough to start their own family and own their own land just because they were just barely old enough to do so? Or what about during the Civil war? Would you still have slavery in the United States? There comes a time, when wether you agree with it or not, you have to follow your president (leader) orders. Thankfully in the USA we have the ability to decide who our leader will be. Use this right and vote during the upcoming election, and all other elections. |

I agree with Yaya, and its comments like this that help spread this hate mongering. This person obviously doesn't understand our legislative system. The president can not do anything on his own. It has to pass through congress and the House as well. You people are just using the president as a scapegoat to all this stuff thats going wrong. Sure he may support certain things such as the war, but if congress and the House didn't support it, we wouldn't have ever been there. |
