Got stung really bad one time down in Galveston Texas.
Then someone told me to make it stop stinging you have someone pee on it, hehe. Something about the uric acid in urine stops the jellyfish from stinging you anymore.
Well...I let it sting........cause I couldnt pee on the back of my own leg and sure wasnt letting anyone pee one me.

I didn't have my eyes in laugh and i think he got tossed across my leg in the surf... i was just swimming with my friend and when i got out of the water i felt a little burning and saw red streaks on my calf... it only stung a little and the next day it was fine.

Yes, in Misquamicut Rhode Island, all over my legs. Luckily there was an outdoor bar and the guy lent me the spray dispenser and I doused myself to rinse out of the toxins. My sister kept telling me to pee, that the urine kills the burning... but I was a teenager and no way was I going to do that on the beach! noway

I knew a friend who was stung by a Box Jellyfish when he was in Australia on vacation. He says that the one thing you don't EVER want to experience is the pain from such a sting- the pain is immense, and it goes on for HOURS. I'm talking well over twelve hours, too.

And yeah- urine will evidently go a good job of getting rid of neutralizing the poisons on your skin. It has something to do with the ammonia in urine or something.

I stepped on a jellyfish coming up outta the ocean cause I'd been bitten on the toe by a shore shark. No no wait...gets better. Earlier the same day, I was stung by a wasp. I was 9 and did not go back to the ocean again til I was 19. laugh
