I can explain, and understand why bubbles rise from the bottom of boiling water, yet I am unable to understand the original posters question(s)

Thanks for trying to help debbie, but maybe try looking up what something is before assuming you know just because you see it in something.

I've read on several medical herbal sites and looked in a few books that it's an amino acid that's good for my heart, that's why I started taking them long afer my palpitations started, not before. Thanks for your input.

"Many of the leading 'stimulant drinks' contain about one gram of taurine, however despite its presence in these drinks, taurine has not been shown to be energy-giving per se, however the results of the studies into taurine usage have shown that taurine is involved in reducing muscular fatigue (Warskulat et al 2004) and has benefits to thermoregulation (taurine helps stabilise body temperature in physical activity) and concentration.

It is often incorrectly claimed therefore to be a 'stimulant', indeed it may actually be involved in inhibiting excitary neurones in the brain (like GABA does), making it more of a relaxant (Faseb 2004). Its use in stimulant drinks therefore is optimal alongside a stimulant like caffeine, for its benefits in reducing fatigue, increasing exercise capacity, aiding thermoregulation and in improving concentration."

EE, ask doc about beta blockers. They block a specific type of stimulation to the heart. They are used to keep BP low, regulate heart, and for anxiety/panic attacks.

Ah, the crazy state!laugh Do you know a "psycho guy" from there? I used to! laugh

I know it's an anti-spasmodic, I heard it's good for palpitations... the stuff my mom has is from like 1970 though so that won't do any good laugh

EE i have had the same issue that you are discribing.
they narrowed it down to me having an "irreregular heartbeat" *like i didnt know that already sheesh!*
also i "may have" a mitrovalve prolapse...
(aparently this means that this valve in my heart will beat whenever, and however (even backwards) it feels that it wants to.

but all in all.. they hooked me to the holter for flippen 48 hours.. and figured out that they didnt know a damn thing!
laugh laugh laugh laugh

bright side.. this was 7 years ago. and unless i get stressed i dont even realize that it is doing it, and im still here. but it does get a bit trippysometimes when you can aucutualy feel your heart "pause" and you wonder if it will start again for that split second... and it HURTS like a mother when it beats backwards for that beat!!

but other than that.. if it trips out on me.. i usualy just cough.. i know it sounds odd... but i cough and then rest for a sec.. and then all better.
