Is anybody following the Phoenix probe landing at Mar's North Pole this evening? As of 7:30 pm EST, it is on schedule to land and begin it's investigation into whether any primitive life ever existed in the permafrost.

There's live coverage on cable's The Science Channel, if you want to follow along.

We are in the 16 minute delay right now. The thing has actually already either touched down or put a pretty decent hole in the surface of Mars...haha

Parachute did deploy! Now we just need the separation of the parachute and the jets to fire. Then finally the landing.

There was absolutely no slip ups in the whole operation. The radar was confirmed to be working. Now it just needs to open up and begin transmitting.
