Topic: am I wrong?

I put my big house plant outside to get some sun and then ran some errands.... when I came back my plant was ripped out of the pot and scattered all over my yard thanks to my neighbor boys. Ages 5 & 3 They always come over to my house and play with my daughter and I babysit them and they watch my daughter and we always all usually get along. But now I'm pissed. That boy is always tearing up something. I told his dad about it and he grounded him to the couch for a whopping 10 minutes. He did make him come apologize but I'm still pretty irritated. I told him he may be out of trouble at home but he's still in trouble with me and can't come over and play until he respects my property. Is it wrong to think they should offer me a new plant?

you would think that if they were decent ppl they would have offered to replace or pay for replacement. or have the child repay you in some way with chores or something.

No its NOT to much to THINK or ASK for a new plant, BUT its YOUR falut YOU DON'T TELL THEM your MIND... If their kids keep missing with ANY of YOUR stuff and causing ANY loss.. THEY WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED BACK OVER to my yard,,,end of story and their PARENTS showed ALSO know THAT is THEIR PROBLEM,,and NOT YOURS... But SOME parents don't care what THEIR kids do as long as ITS NOT THEIR PROPERTY....

Idont think that you are wrong, and actually the parents should have offered to replace the plant and have there child do chores around their house to pay for it. They have not taught their child anything.

if the role was reversed and my daughter did that to someone, I would get them a new plant asap

No, you're not wrong at all.. My sister used to live next door to Satan's spawn. This SEVEN year old used to break into cars. His mom was a major nut-job. She collected Barbie dolls,and would dress them up and put them outside- dressed for the weather. The boy was arrested 6 or 7 times by the time he was 10. Sis moved (and after calling the cops) after this little demon fed my 2 year old niece a mud pie. May that boy get the help he needs.

I think you should go tell them to get you a new plant. Point out you would do the same.... Geesh... not very neighborly of them.

I saw it right as I pulled in my driveway and they were playin in the yard and I snapped on them and went and got their dad
