 ALOT of liars about their time in the service if they were in Nam... I've met many who could not even be there because of their ages and it pisses me because why? Just to SEEM important for them to be looked at..
I met a guy in a bar one time that told me he was in Vietanm... he was 48...?????? I called him on it. |

I don't understand why anyone would lie. A lie will come back and haunt you at some time. Just because you think telling a lie would be "easier" on the other person, well it is not when the truth comes out. Honesty is always the best.

My brother had this kind of problem,said he was the postmaster, when he worked part time at the post office, told some of his in-laws he was a pilot in the Air Force, when he held an administrative position, told his second wife that the first wife and kids were killed in an auto accident. His obituary stated he had retired from the Air Force, he did 15 years, and that he had an Associates Degree, he didn't. He was the life of the party and made friends everywhere he went.

and told you they had canser, or they owned a company. What would you think? They were an idiot? They lacked self esteem? They wanted your sympathy? They wanted to impress you? lying about a life threatening illness to me is a much more disconcerting issue than lying about what you own to impress me. Both are wrong mind you. But one speaks of a different mindset than the other. IMHO |

If a person lies about small things...they are also capable of lying about anything...and there are all sorts of reasons why people lie... If I've caught someone in a lie...everything they will ever say becomes suspect...and trust is very difficult to rebuild once its been removed! I totally agree with this! |
