Is there anyone here (male or female) who is willing to lay their life down for another human being in a heart beat? and if so do you look at it that way? Im a Fire Fighter, Police Officer and a Water Rescue Diver/swimmer. I have fought fires, got shot at my first day of work and have dove under ice to rescue a 3yo child from certian death. I was told last night that im a hero and its very unselfish of me to lay my life down evey day, most of the time as a volenteer. I dont agree, I believe its just a calling, and some things im great at, thats all. Views from others who face the same challenges?

Anyone that does for others is a hero.

Most people who do selfless things will not like to have credit or recognition for it. That's part of being selfless! |

Well you are a hero, and its not being selfish, if you only did it for the trill and to be label a hero, that is a different story. You did it because you wanted to risk your own life to save another. I would trow down my life to save another, but thats who I am. We need more people in this world like you................
