Alesana and Chiodos are both very talented groups of musicians, I'm just not a fan of the high-pitched vocals in some instances, or their lyrical style. I guess I'm kinda old school, when I hear metal riffs, I want to hear some buff dude in leather sing about dragons and ****. That's just me though.

I'm a fan of the old school cross-over hardcore stuff, if that applies. Some examples of this would be bands such as Agnostic Front, Discharge, and the Cro-Mags.

Although I haven't had a chance to hear their new album. As far as hardcore goes, I'll listen to a bit of it, but it's not my main choice of music.

Agnostic Front is a great band. I also completely love Rise Against. It's nice to know there are people who listen to the same sh*t as me. I moved to a really rural area like 7 months ago and all people listen to here is country... .::shudder::..

Now let's define what hardcore is before we start discussing it because you mentioned screamo stuff as hardcore, which it is not. Bands like Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, Sheer Terror, Bad Brains are hardcore but the bands that you mentioned earlier certainly cannot be classified as hardcore.
