It's just the internet folks, i have moderated for a long time for several sites and this always comes up. Every site i have been on has a disclaimer regarding privacy and heres why...

Hackers will find you if they want to, the sites protect themselves from liabilities though these privacy policies. They would be foolish not to.

None of us are safe anywhere on the web, we all take the chance that someone could get our information.

Thanks Mark, No worries, I had only meant to ask if I could make my threads private through my profile settings. The answer is no I guess. I was just taken by suprise is all. I am a rookie by forum standards and there is a lot that i don't know about. I had not meant to imply that this site was better or worse than others. I have a good time noodling about on here.
